David said his father suffered an "incomplete" spinal cord injury when he fell from a ladder on Nov. 12, which means he could potentially regain neutral functioning. "He's recuperating very well. The last month has been a really, really great moving in the right direction," he said. "Unfortunately, he's still paralyzed below the neck, but he's speaking beautifully. He's eating now, drinking now. That was stuff that wasn't happening only about a month ago. So it's really great to see him get to the point where he is now, knowing that, of course, there's room for a lot of improvement."
He said his father is "clamoring" to get back on the air. "He gives assurances, without giving a specific date, that he'll be back on at some point in the spring, and based on all that I've seen and all that anybody who's visited him has seen, he's really the same old Dennis."

Good gosh!
Six weeks ago, I tripped over a dog squeaky toy and fell on my back on a hardwood floor. Transcerse compression fracture in my spine. Doc looked at MRI results and said, “It’s not operable, but it’s good that it broke the direction it did. If it had fractured the other side, you would be paralyzed.”
In 1990 a satelitte dish was 12 foot diameter. Just saying
That is standard practice for ladders. Always have a spot.
I thought he fell in the shower but I am not sure.

It’s not only advisable, the costs are far less as well.
About a decade ago we put grab bars up in the parents house. Dad asked us if we thought he was going to take up ballet.
They have both been saved from falling by the bars.

Don’t know your neighbor, of course, but I am guessing it is about being self-sufficient rather than being cheap.
I do not take dangerous chances, but I refuse to stop doing work that I am still capable of.

I've examined the evidence and believe that you are correct.
The initial report I heard was shower and I’m not the only one. I don’t know where that came from or who reported it. If his son says ladder I guess it was a ladder.
Actually, I heard "shower" initially, just as you did.
