Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth on Wednesday ordered a department-wide review of existing standards for each military branch on physical fitness, body composition, and grooming — including on beards, Breitbart News has exclusively learned.

“We must remain vigilant in maintaining the standards that enable the men and women of our military to protect the American people and our homeland as the world’s most lethal and effective fighting force,” Hegseth said in a March 12, 2025, memorandum ordering the review.

“Our adversaries are not growing weaker, and our tasks are not growing less challenging. This review will illuminate how the Department has maintained the level of standards required over the recent past and the trajectory of any change in those standards,” he added. […]

Hegseth has made returning the military to its core mission of warfighting his top priority, which includes having forces ready and fit to fight. …

“Exclusive–Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth Orders Force-Wide Review of Existing Fitness and Grooming Standards”

If they have standards for Grooming the perversion of the military is FAR WORSE than I even imagined.

My Guidebook For Marines circa 1980 has very specific grooming standards. But I don’t think believe that’s the kind of grooming you’re referring to.

I do not know if it is still true but in the British army it used to be that a man was required to have a mustache if he could grow one.

Of course they have standards for grooming. The standards for good groomimg are a set up for discipline across the board. I am not even military and I can see that. They set standards for civilian nurses and medical people, too. (at least they used to)

Or are you missing a comma somewhere in that sentence?

Good point - I guess there are multiple definitions for Grooming these days...I just think of the one in common usage and it certainly would make sense, given what’s become of our military under DNC rule.

Army regulation 670-1. Been around forever, or at least since I joined up in 1974.

And Air Firce Regulations 35-10 and 35-11. I doubt they’ve changed, much, in 60 years. Enforcement may have gotten slack, however.

Shave all beards and heads...

Run 20 miles with a full backpack on five consecutive days...

Carry, one at a time, every one of your squad members 100 yards in the rain with just a 5 minute rest between carries...

About damn time. I’m 73, retired for over 20 years. When I go and sit at Elmendorf hospital I’m appalled and embarrassed at the fat slobs ( mostly women) I see walking around in BDU’s that look like maternity clothes. If I were a PRC spy I would be laughing my arse off. I could still pass basic fitness training which wasn’t that hard.

President Reagan took away the turbans but I think they are back.

Everyone in the military should look like military, and that means fit and hard, even the generals.

What I would like to see, is Secretary Hegseth make Patrol Caps Great Again. Take those little French fag hats away from the Army and put patrol caps back on their heads.

With the notable exception of the Special Forces, Rangers, and paratroopers naturally since they had them on their heads for 60-odd years and marked them as elite troops.
