Men also have an incomplete set of chromosomes. The Y chromosome is missing part of the female X chromosome, which is the reason it is a Y.

FUN FACT:
Not just in fully grown humans, but as sperm, the XX lives longer than the XY.
XY is faster but short lived. XX is slow, but lives longer.
Much easier to have a boy than a girl, but it is all about timing and knowing your day of ovulation. I wanted to have a girl after my boy and knowing this, I was able to have my daughter!! :)

The simple answer as to why woman live longer is simple... Woman are less likely to work in industries that result in death from accidental workplace incidents. Every year thousands die in work related accidents, and most of those who do die are men.

I think it probably gets shaved off on the early side more than the late. Young men fight in war, drive like idiots, tip cows, do parkour, adventure sports, fight each other. Doesn’t take a lot of guys dying at 18 to change the back end number.
