EVs will never catch on. Biden wasted billions pouring money into losing companies and promoting cars nobody wants.

Expected. I am pretty sure Musk has at least expected his political alignment would impact Tesla, he did get where he is by being naive.

He may not be able to do much and knows he has to eat these losses, we will see.

Reports are emerging of owners being harassed, vehicles vandalized, and even Supercharger stations set on fire. Some Tesla owners are even removing the logo to avoid being targeted.

Stiff prison sentences are in order.

My take is that Elon is meh about all this Tesla. That he is moving on from Tesla to Mars + AI + X + politics + neural link + helping the Trump agenda. How much of Elon’s wealth is in Tesla stock?

BTW — Trumps Truth Social stock has increased his wealth by about 2-3 billion. But TS is in a down phase with stock only $20. It has been as high as $50.

You posted this without a comment? What’s your point?
Lots of us don’t care about electric cars, but we still like what Elon is doing as Trump’s advocate for DOGE.

Here in NY, it wasn’t that long ago that Democrat Superstar Gov. Andrew Cuomo gifted Elon Musk’s Solar City a brand new $900 million factory in Buffalo NY, paid for by the taxpayer.

Democrats said Cuomo was going become President, and Elon Musk was going to save the environment

Now Democrats made one into a sex-pest, and other into a Nazi!

That’s the nature of leftist politics.

Musk could sure use a successful Starship launch and an IPO for SpaceX in the next year.

“Is the company losing its dominance in the electric vehicle market?”

Are other EV companies stealing Tesla’s market, or is the EV market just shrinking? I was always astonished by the level of success that EVs have had in the marketplace. So many people put a high premium on status, and on the notion, or the illusion, of righteousness. They’re willing to pay big bucks for it, and sacrifice a lot of convenience for it. At least they were up to now. But now Musk has outed himself as a...a Conservative (shudder), and a MAGA guy. Maybe even a Climate Denier. He’s closely associated with the technology, and that just spoils everything.

Those allied with Trump are enemies to the Swamp and Deep State with the same risks that Trump faced since coming down the escalator..

They risk their own lives, fortunes, and sacred honor to back Trump in Making America Great Again.

Maybe it’s easier to do all that if you’re a billionaire, or maybe it’s so millions of Americans don’t have to start fighting to rid ourselves of the long train of abuses.

Tesla is in serious trouble. Sales are plummeting across the globe, with shocking declines in key markets like Europe, Canada, and the United States. Once the undisputed leader in the EV market, Tesla is now facing stiff competition, political backlash, and declining consumer confidence.

I have always regarded electric cars as a political issue, not a real issue.

The people that wanted them only wanted them as jewelry so that they could virtue signals to others how much they cared about the environment.

Electric cars have never been a good idea just for their own sake, though with advancement in batteries, the argument in favor of them is getting better.

But yeah, since Musk came out on Trump's side, I knew the leftist nitwits, who represented the majority of people purchasing electric vehicles, would melt down.

Also, cutting out the government influence on the market would also likely lead to a collapse in sales.

Each one of those Teslas on the lot has ALREADY harmed the environment more than my V8-powered pickup will in its entire life.

Tesla needs to be that car that everyone aspires to own. It was never meant to be the car for everyday runs to the store. The same with the Cyber Truck.

EV’s were a bad idea from day one. Only Government support made what success they had possible.
