Tesla’s Empire CRUMBLES: Sales Crash & Owners Run For Their Lives - (in Europe too)
Rev Nation
Tesla is in serious trouble. Sales are plummeting across the globe, with shocking declines in key markets like Europe, Canada, and the United States.
Once the undisputed leader in the EV market, Tesla is now facing stiff competition, political backlash, and declining consumer confidence.
Here’s the latest sales data:
🔹 United States: Tesla sales rose 14% in February 2025 to around 42,000 vehicles, but market share dropped to 44% in 2024, signaling major challenges.
🔹 Global Sales: Tesla delivered 495,600 vehicles in Q4 2024, a 7.1% drop compared to the previous year. Production for 2024 declined by 4% overall.
🔹 Europe: Tesla sales collapsed by 45% in January 2025, despite the EV market growing 18%.
• Germany: 76% drop in sales in February 2025.
• France & Scandinavia: Sales fell by 45% and more in early 2025.
🔹 Canada: Tesla sales plunged 70% in January 2025, as government EV subsidies ended.
But it’s not just about numbers—Tesla is facing increasing political and social backlash.
Reports are emerging of owners being harassed, vehicles vandalized, and even Supercharger stations set on fire. Some Tesla owners are even removing the logo to avoid being targeted.
Is Elon Musk’s political presence hurting Tesla? Is the company losing its dominance in the electric vehicle market? And what does this mean for Tesla’s future?

Musk could sure use a successful Starship launch and an IPO for SpaceX in the next year.
I did comment at post #9!
Well, Cuomo is going to be NYC Mayor.
“Is the company losing its dominance in the electric vehicle market?”
Are other EV companies stealing Tesla’s market, or is the EV market just shrinking? I was always astonished by the level of success that EVs have had in the marketplace. So many people put a high premium on status, and on the notion, or the illusion, of righteousness. They’re willing to pay big bucks for it, and sacrifice a lot of convenience for it. At least they were up to now. But now Musk has outed himself as a...a Conservative (shudder), and a MAGA guy. Maybe even a Climate Denier. He’s closely associated with the technology, and that just spoils everything.
Those allied with Trump are enemies to the Swamp and Deep State with the same risks that Trump faced since coming down the escalator..
They risk their own lives, fortunes, and sacred honor to back Trump in Making America Great Again.
Maybe it’s easier to do all that if you’re a billionaire, or maybe it’s so millions of Americans don’t have to start fighting to rid ourselves of the long train of abuses.
“and sacrifice a lot of convenience for it.”
and gain a lot of convenience for it.
I have always regarded electric cars as a political issue, not a real issue.
The people that wanted them only wanted them as jewelry so that they could virtue signals to others how much they cared about the environment.
Electric cars have never been a good idea just for their own sake, though with advancement in batteries, the argument in favor of them is getting better.
But yeah, since Musk came out on Trump's side, I knew the leftist nitwits, who represented the majority of people purchasing electric vehicles, would melt down.
Also, cutting out the government influence on the market would also likely lead to a collapse in sales.
EVs are still at the “toy level”. They’re fine for people who can afford expensive “toys” and hobbies. Any more then that they’re a huge and potentially dangerous waste of money.
Each one of those Teslas on the lot has ALREADY harmed the environment more than my V8-powered pickup will in its entire life.
You forget that Dennis is a disgusting neocon.
I agree. "Toys", "Jewelry", "virtue signaling" and what have you, they really weren't ready for prime time.
And are currently very dangerous from a "causes fires" standpoint.
“EVs will never catch on. “
In situations where they are driven for a non-battery-depleting distance during the day and recharged overnight, they’re well suited.
Don’t know about the lifetime cost to operate an EV compared to an ICE-powered vehicle.
Elon will be just fine. Isn’t this intended to diminish him somehow?
In that all Teslas look the same, if you can’t spot one with the logo covered, you’re an idiot.
Tesla needs to be that car that everyone aspires to own. It was never meant to be the car for everyday runs to the store. The same with the Cyber Truck.
Couldn’t be more thrilled. I’m glad not to have an electric car. This is excellent news for America.
The man could lose half his money and still be worth $200 billion. I don’t think he worries about much.

We knew what you meant. ;)
EV’s are a great commuter car IF you can charge them at your house but inconvient for long trips.
I only drive 19 miles round trip for work. An EV would work fine for me IF that was the only thing I was going to use it for.
However, when I drive up to Jay Peak ski area next weekend I would never want to drive an EV. It is a 3 1/2 hour drive each way. The ski area is in a rural area. I don’t want to spend time planning out where a charger is. OR worrying about running out of charge.
Now, IF they come out with a battery with more range it takes away that objection.
The other major issue is the fact that IF one of these things overcharges and starts on fire I don’t want it to burn my house down. Especially IF I am sleeping in that house.
MOST people can not afford to have an automobile as a toy. A secondary car. If they can, they buy a Miata or a Porsche 911.
That is why a a PLUG IN HYBRID makes the most sense IMHO.
A Toyota RAV4 Plug in hybrid is an example. It has a battery that allows about 40 miles of use without the engine turning on. However, it has a decent size engine to power it.
It also has quite a bit of Horsepower.
It scheduled to go today, but it is rather windy.they could scrub again.
