There's so much to love about Easter. From sharing a delicious meal with family to picking out special Easter outfits to watching the kids unpack their baskets, the spring holiday fills our hearts with joy. It also fills our bellies with some delicious candy, and the classic chocolate Easter egg is the star.

Its good to revisit memories once a year...
No. This is wholly wrong.
Easter is about Christ’s resurrection and victory over death. Jesus is The Bright and Morning Star.
Everything else melts in in significance like a candy bar left in the radiance of the Son.
The Best.

Love the Hot Cross Buns that show up at Easter...and the special breads.
Used to be an independent chocolatier we would get Easter candy from. I waited all year for that, it was pricey. But that was 20+ years ago since they closed.
I’ve kinda committed in the last few years, to only buy chocolate for very special occasion and it has to be quality, not supermarket/drugstore mass produced types.
Like Christmas becoming about Santa, reindeer, and wrapping paper, governments, public buildings and schools, media, and corporations, are morphing Easter into a generic “holiday” of bunnies and colored eggs, as the old die off, future generations will be celebrating generic holidays of cartoon figures and kids play with no known meaning.
Ing 8.8 oz fine-chp milk chocolate, ⅔ cup smooth p/butter ½ cup conf 1 Tb+1 tsp graham crumbs ¾ tsp vanilla 1 Tb+1 tsp unsalted butter
Instructions combine peanut butter, powdered sugar, graham crumbs, vanilla, and butter. Put filling into a piping bag and cut off tip. Use a paintbrush (only used on food) to brush a layer of chocolate into the mold. Make sure there is solid coating so that the peanut butter filling does not leak out or show. Once the chocolate has set, fill the mold with the peanut butter filling.
Leave a small gap at top of mold to cover w/ a 2nd layer of chocolate. Scrape top of mold to get a flat bottom when done. Let chocolate set completely and then remove them from mold.
I don’t think we’re ready for chocolate Jesus.

Yes...agree!
You sell more chocolate bunnies and eggs that way.
But the symbolism of the egg goes way back, representing the opening and promise of the empty tomb, etc. Bunnies I imagine hopped onto that as a symbol of spring renewal.

Eggs have long been associated with Easter and the risen Christ. They are used in both Orthodox and western Christian practices.

That is meaningless, you can have eggs and bunnies and Santas and a little tree for the rest of time, and probably will, even in the public library, but it doesn’t mean that the powers of be can’t erase from memory what those days are about, which they are surely doing.
I agree.
Buzzkill.
It isn't up to "the powers" and the merchants to maintain your Faith and traditions. That is your very own job.
It isn't up to you to dictate how others celebrate Easter.
LOL, a scolding?
Cultural and religious issues in America are part of being conservative, and a Christian in America, fight for America and it’s people and our culture.
Picking something that actually matters and has an effect on outcome should be what gets attention.
...people and our culture...
My oldest memories include Easter Eggs and baskets; and, my father was an LCMS pastor. So, all of that IS part of my culture. Your concerns stem, perhaps, from not understanding the power of the Holy Spirit and Salvation through Grace alone.
Wow, trying to keep conservatives from being conservative and preserving American values and culture, and Christmas and Easter. You sure have strange positions for someone on a pro-Christian conservative political site.
I don't have strange positions at all in view of my denomination.
“It is not what enters into the mouth that defiles the man, but what proceeds out of the mouth, this defiles the man.” (Mat 15:11).
If eating Easter Eggs (Chocolate or organic) bothers you, it would be sinful of me to insist you did so. Conversely, if you try to dictate the terms of my Faith, you would be in error.
Another consideration:
"1 Now accept the one who is weak in faith, but not for the purpose of passing judgment on his opinions. One man has faith that he may eat all things, but he who is weak eats vegetables only.” (Romans 14:1-2).
