LA hit with 3.9-magnitude earthquake following Oscars 2025

An earthquake rattled Los Angeles hours after the 2025 Academy Awards ceremony wrapped up in Hollywood, according to multiple reports.

The 3.9-magnitude tremor struck North Hollywood at around 10:13 p.m. on Sunday, according to the United States Geological Survey.

Shaking was reported to be felt miles across LA, including in Pasadena, Long Beach, San Fernando Valley, Torrance, Redondo Beach and Glendale, NBC Los Angeles reported.

There have been no immediate reports of injuries or damages, according to ABC 7.

The Los Angeles Fire Department posted on X that they would not enter “earthquake Mode” following the quake.

We had a 3.9 in Arizona a couple of days ago. No one felt it except the Hopis.

I grew up in SoCal and I've been through some big ones. A 3.9 isn't even enough to get the chandelier lamps swinging.
