No one can force the US into the Eurotrash insanity. Screw Article V. The Eurotrash are the aggressors.
I’m skeptical of this article, but it wouldn’t surprise me one bit if the Eurofacists are planning such a scenario. They have gone batshit insane.
That’s why it’s imperative that we start the process of leaving NATO. Immediately.

however, a scheme in which it could happen is that Europe sends troops from countries including NATO countries to Ukraine. Then Russia attacks those troops in Ukraine. The troops fight back. Then Russia cries foul and attacks the troop sending countries, including troop sending NATO countries. Then NATO could claim to be under attack from Russia and invoke Article V military support. That is what I already posted. A brigade deploys from a European country to Ukraine, gets into a battle with the Russians, needs reinforcements from home. Russia stops the troop movement with a missile in the home country which NATO then claims is an Article V transgression and we're all toast.
Cue Fred Thompson.

Im order to do so, NATO needs to meet and ALL MEMBERS have to agree to send troops to a non NATO countries. Consensus, not voting with majority win. The US will not approve it.

Consider the source. Who's the Napoleon that's going to lead to victory over Russia? T-shirt guy? The NATO country that will put an end to such talk is Poland, in private if not in public. They have a bad (three if you count Belarus and Ukraine) neighbor. So what else is new? The last people who want an Article V situation are the Poles. And they now have the military weight to count.

It is officially time to leave N.A.T.O. on their own.

My understanding is they are sending troops to enforce a ceasefire if they can get one. Not to start WW III and fight Russia.

“enforce a ceasefire if they can get one. Not to start WW III and fight Russia.”
But a minor difference.
Why not send in UN “Peacekeepers”?
To: DesertRhino
Not true. The Brits and Canucks sent substantial forces and the Dutch and the Danes participated in some substantial firefights.
To: paudio
I think I said that in my post.
To: farmguy
I hope you are correct.
Back in the day, Brezhnev told Nixon that the Soviets would be sending thousands of troops to just north of Israel, and that Nixon would then need to respond with troops of our own.
Nixon knew that could easily turn into a trigger for a much larger conflict - having our troops in such close proximity.
“No President Brezhnev - I will not send our troops. I have other, um, resources, at my disposal to counter any invasion by Soviet troops.”
Brezhnev didn’t send his troops.
