Dying of dysentery is now more than just a video game meme in Oregon.
In a disgusting turn of events straight out of the “Oregon Trail” game, the diarrhea-inducing malady dysentery is making a stomach-churning comeback in a densely populated region of the state.
Cases of the hyper-contagious bacterial disease have surged in Multnomah County, with health officials reporting 40 cases of the wretched sickness in January, according to the Multnomah County Health Department, KOIN reported.
The infection, also known as shigellosis, can spread through exposure with infected feces, contaminated food or water, or sexual contact – with person-to-person the most common form of transmission, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Next up will be cholera.
They brought Mexican water to share.
Obviously Trump has neglected the Dysentery Control System.
I played Oregon Trail when I was little. Disease often got me.
“Mah gums are bleedin’!”
Farm workers legal and illegal, crapping in the fields, then handling food- spreads ecoli as well.
“person-to-person the most common form”
The monkey pox crowd.
It’s hard to explain to younger people in the family that this country spent most of the 20th century eliminating or at least removing most diseases from America. Then we got side-tracked, and medical research focused on keeping promiscuous homosexuals alive through the AIDS cocktail, at the same time allowing many of the diseases to walk back into our country across the southern border.
Maybe the physical symptoms of Woke Leftwing politics dominating the state are finally manifesting.
yep in Africa, the average person dies age 30 from this- you basically sh&$ yourself to death.
Right...all that ‘rent-a-mob’ crowd were living in tent city during the ‘demonstrations’.
Seeing pictures of them, they looked like hold-overs from Woodstock.
When I worked at the Univesity, that is the way everyone looked. This old guy used to come in every morning and I sort of felt sorry for him. He looked like he was homeless, but I was told he was the head of the department
It’s the homeless, crapping, bathing and drinking all in the same river.
Great point.
Hopefully RFKJr will get the public health systems re-focused on your first line as part of MAHA.
Filthy place
However since the drugaddicts on the street are part of the USAID plan, things are going swimmingly.

Listen to the whole thing.
Once upon a time, we developed an understanding of how infectious diseases are spread and we improved sanitation. We also made the connection between masses of people moving around and introducing diseases where they had been eradicated or had been previously unknown.
What happened?
Dysentery was a major cause of Civil War casualties. My second great-grandfather had his CW military career ended by a case of measles, which also caused him health problems the rest of his life. And, going back farther, what happened to much of the native population of the Americas once the Europeans arrived?
And that was all a long time ago.
Hippies😂
Can Noem and Honan please speed things up?
I read once that dysentery caused more casualties than battlefield injuries in NA, esp with Germans where water treatment and waste disposal was inferior to allies
