“Mike Adblock für Chrome”
Nothing suspicious about that name lol
Jeez. I don’t suppose MS is going to reimburse anyone for their troubles. “Do not turn off your computer”. Really? I’ll turn anything off in my house I damn sure want to. Take your updates and stick them where the sun don’t shine. Before retiring I was in IT for over 45 years. I never saw such sloppy software until MS.
That include Brave?

Who uses Google Chrome?
Dang, Google dropped extension vulnerability education to make time for DEI briefings. Someone is going to need a safe space and a puppy.
Use adguard- blocks almost all ads- and you can block certain page cells like any news items that search engines want to shove on us- ai buttons, etc individually. I want a clean sea4ch engine, not one with “suggested sites” and “suggested news stories” which are always liberal cesspool stories clutter8ng up the search page.
I had Super Dark Mode and my chromium browsers disabled it. I removed it anyway cuz it sucked.
“...users should manually delete them if they are still installed on their browsers.”
HOW do we do that? Any suggestion(s)?
OK, I figured it out.
Chrome Menu (top right) -> More Tools -> Extensions -> Delete individual Extensions by name.
I'm primarily a *NIX user and the security set-ups of most financial institutions (and the Veterans Administration) are geared to M$ browsers so I find I sometimes have to resort to playing musical browsers to find one that works.
So it's not my "EDB" (every-day browser) but Iron, SRWare's (de-G**gled) fork of Chrome, works for my banking and investment institutions and most government agencies.
I also should note I have an extreme aversion to anything G**gle-branded, which is why I have a de-G**gled Android ROMs on my smartphones and my tablet (CalyxOS and LineageOS with MicroG, respectively).
Five Potentially Dangerous Browser Extension Permissions To Understand1. Access To All Site Data: Basically, when an extension has this permission, it can read, modify and transmit your browsing activity without your consent other than letting you know it is requesting this permission during installation.
2. Read And Modify Browser Settings 1. Browser Settings Permission: This allows an extension to read and adjust browser settings such as home page, search engine and new tab page.
3. Browsing Data Permission: 4. Proxy Permission:
2. Privacy Permission: With access to privacy settings, extensions can enable or disable features like tracking protection, cookies or other security-related settings that control data privacy.
5. Content Settings Permission:
3. Enable Keystroke Logging
4. Enable Access To Clipboard
5. Enable Desktop Access And Capture - https://www.forbes.com/councils/forbesbusinesscouncil/2024/12/05/five-potentially-dangerous-browser-extension-permissions-to-understand/ :
News has been making headlines over the weekend of the extensive attack campaign targeting browser extensions and injecting them with malicious code to steal user credentials. Currently, over 25 extensions, with an install base of over two million users, have been found to be compromised, - https://thehackernews.com/2024/12/when-good-extensions-go-bad-takeaways.html
Public Extensions in the Chrome Store are Exposed. It appears that extensions were compromised as a result of a phishing campaign targeting the publishers of browser extensions on the Chrome Web Store. The details on who to target were apparently collected from the Web Store itself, which includes details of the extension author, including their email address. While the Chrome Web Store is the best-known source for extensions, it is not the only one, and some enterprise-grade extensions are deployed directly.
I run many installations of Firefox Portable (from a SSD partition), each for its own general purpose, and I recently installed Gecko-based FloorpFloorp to the mix. All 7 running concurrently. I added key Firefox extensions to Floorp, and it is a good addition which I overall find to be is a better than it’s nearest Chromium-based competition, Vivaldi, which i find far better for me than Chrome and Edge (which is presently last for me).
Especially if one opens a lot tabs and to be able to obtain multiple tab rows, as with Vivaldi (hack).(Without the latter I would be not be using either Firefox Quantum nor Vivaldi as main browsers, and maybe would use Firefox ESR 52.9 (the last version legacy extensions worked on) or Waterfox Classic for forums, if not aside from commerce.)
I found that Firefox extensions work in Floorp, as does the Izheil Multi-row tabs (which was before I read that this is enabled in Floorp itself, [paste about:preferences#design in the address bar] and other functions installer (though it protests against a non-standard profile).
Of course, there are a few developer preferences that require about:config to "fix," such as always opening search results (from address or search bar) in new tab and open new ones at the end of the tab bar.
I am 72 with stiff arthritic typo-fingers and appreciate such tools, and I thank God for them and those who provide them.

Saving, Thanks!
I was considering one of the emoji add-ons. Guess not. Thanks for the heads-up.
Are these things you to add on, or did they come with it?
Thanks!
