When I was a boy - some 50 + years ago - I was in the wrong part of town. Teens shooked me down for the pocket change I had.
As they did, a cop car rolled by. One teen said, and I’ll never forget it, “There’s the cops. You betta holla for ‘em.”
I learned a valuable lesson that night. I’ve never since been in any dark parts of town.
At least not at night.
