All The Donald = All Hail the Donald

I’m just starting to feel halfway human after a week of some crud. Still missing on a couple of cylinders

We had one contract and had to fill out daily time cards...hour by hour...what a pain.

Government contracts were different.

Not at all.

https://spongebob.fandom.com/wiki/Breakin%27

At the Krusty Krab, SpongeBob is cooking Krabby Patties when Mr. Krabs and a labor authority officer come in. Mr. Krabs explains that SpongeBob must take a five-minute break or else he will get fined. SpongeBob sees dirt on a table and cleans it up, and Mr. Krabs tells him that he cannot work on his break. The labor authority author starts to fine Mr. Krabs, so he uncovers an employee break room.

SpongeBob is excited about the break room and makes a carousel out of hot dogs, then puts it in the microwave. He surfs on a chair in front of a wave poster and then eats expired leftovers from the fridge. SpongeBob then makes a band out of various objects and starts playing music, which attracts the customers into the break room.

Mr. Krabs notices that the Krusty Krab is empty and finds everyone dancing in the break room, including the labor authority officer. He interrupts it to tell SpongeBob that his break is over. The officer agrees to not fine Mr. Krabs, and SpongeBob is excited for his next break in 20 years.

It scares me that you know that much about a cartoon sponge.

You are far too knowledgeable about these cartoon characters.
All I know is that there is a Sponge Bob.

You are either a parent, grand parent, or a locksmith at Yosemite National Park ha ha

I have zero ties, nostalgic or otherwise to SpongeBob.
That became a thing long after I stopped watching cartoons, with rare exceptions. Same as the Harry Potter books and movies. I’ve heard of them, but never saw or read about them.. If you loved them, wonderful, but I don’t have that connection. My nephew used to like Pinky and the Brain. Those were pretty clever. Every generation has it’s entertainment icons.

On a possibly related note...

Now we understand why the left is flipping out about a simple email to Federal Workers. The fraud doesn't stop at the top. It goes far beyond. (The Mafia used to call these No-Show Jobs.)

I had executive management that required me to inform them in exacting detail what I did, every week. The report had to accompany my expense reports and my direct reports summaries .

It became a very good habit to take on. A year later, what was so.....important, was not at all. It's a great exercise for you to measure your own performance and to better manage those reporting to you.

It also painted in exacting detail where the company executives were wasting time, failing to communicate, and wasting resources.

It's not always about you when management asks for your measure. As a matter of fact, it's usually about their priorities and focus.

Do not fear your measure. Embrace it.

I’ve never been triggered by a cartoon character. I must be out of touch or something.

When I was working in Manhattan, the youngsters in the office had almost no connectivity to movie-inspired corporate lingua franca. The Godfather, Caddyshack, Animal House, The Blues Brothers, Fletch…a generation of employees hadn’t a clue what “I’m gonna make him an offer he can’t refuse” means. Heck, they don’t know who was Ted Kennedy. .

But 1990s cartoons? THAT was their language.

My kids helped me build a corporate Rosetta Stone that pays dividends.

It also helps on FR. Maybe.

My daughter is pre sponge bob or wasn’t into him. I don’t recall seeing him on the tv when she was cartoon age. Rainbow Bright, Strawberry Shortcake, others I’m sure I don’t recall at the moment

I am. I couldn’t pick any Kardashians out of a line up, I couldn’t tell you the name of any Taylor Swift song and I haven’t watched cartoons in over 50 years so I am really sheltered about that.
