A foreign service worker whose pregnant wife allegedly was denied emergency medical transport while stationed abroad has filed an affidavit in federal court against the Trump administration, claiming its “rushed, haphazard and cruel” push to shut down the U.S. Agency for International Development has placed the mother and unborn daughter at grave risk.
The worker, who identified themselves only as "Terry Doe" in a filing that's part of a larger case in federal court in Washington, D.C., charges that the U.S. government twice denied previously approved medical transport orders for the mother, who is 31-weeks pregnant.
“Each day has brought a new constellation of suffering,” the worker said, describing the administration’s directives as conflicting, confusing and cruel. “Because of the stress and strain of the constant onslaught by my employer in recent weeks my wife has repeatedly been in the hospital with a life-threatening condition and stress-related complications.”
The worker said they called everyone they could think of for help before finally finding a sympathetic senator who intervened. But by then the worker’s spouse had begun hemorrhaging and needed emergency hospitalization at their overseas post. She must now remain on bed rest, as they were told it would be too risky to move the mother and unborn child, the filing said.
The worker said the events that led to the life-threatening situation were due to the administration's rushed desire to shut down an agency. “Our lives are acceptable collateral damage for their political gain," the worker said.

Terry Doe...gutless wonder.
PERSONAL Responsibility.
In other words, take responsibility for your own family.
And that’s very telling!
Here is the catch, “medical transport”. What an ambulance? Take her yourself. What, women there don’t have babies? Women there don’t experience bleeds?
If there is no medical treatment where you are, then what are you and your PREGNANT wife doing there?
The devil is always in the details.
Right. The article goes on to say that it was too risky to medevac the patient.
Yet here they are crying that they can’t get a free ride back to the States anyway.
And another thing the article fails to mention. Was this a contract worker? If so, then USAID has no say so on the matter.
The Employer and their health insurance plan is responsible to do or don’t do.
Crap articles like these are posted every day. It’s as if they want us to believe workers are immediately without health insurance.
Sorry about that. Millions of regular families have to pay their med bills, even the big ones.
The author couldn’t even bother listing the overseas location.

Maybe Uganda where USAID spent millions giving condoms to taxi drivers with AIDS who want to have sex with their wives.

A foreign service worker is a diplomat who works in a U.S. embassy, consulate, overseas. This is an American getting an American government paycheck. He filed suit in Washington, D.C. And why since he is employed by the U.S. government does he need the use of USAID service when he's obviously covered as a U.S. employee with health care benefits. Go F yourself Terry Doe.
I really and truly don’t give a shiiite.
If his wife and child are in such dire straits, he should have flown the whole family home so he could be with them while they were using their government-paid family health-care benefits. This reeks of BS.
How did you find that?
If they even exist, neither are US citizens. This is an attempt to have anchor baby so both parties can then enter the USA. We don’t want you.
Can’t have any of that saving babies stuff going on, you know.
Waiting...
They have all this planned before the election. They were hoping to do to President Trump in his second term what they did in the first.
Obstruct and delay and use the courts to block everything.
The one thing they did not expect is how fast Trump is moving. I give the second thing they did not expect is how much the American people are supporting the President.
“There is no USAID funding for MEDEVACS” That has nothing to do with the fraud that has just been uncovered in USAID. That was standard policy long before his alleged issue arose.
They found their sob story to run with and of course it is a pregnant woman.
I don’t really care, Terry.
Not. Our. Problem.
He chose - poorly...
“He chose - poorly...”
The US government is not responsible for remedying poor personal choices by employees or average citizens. Accountability for personal decisions lies with the individual who also reaps the consequences of those decisions.
