"I think DOGE is an unelected, unofficial, small group of young tech bros who are charging into different federal agencies getting into their core computer systems...copying and downloading reams of data," says Sen. Chris Coons.

It's too soon to tell how serious President Trump is in defiance of the Constitution. In his first 28 days, he signed an order to nullify birthright citizenship for some—a right guaranteed by the 14th Amendment. And he has closed agencies and frozen spending that Congress mandated by law. Lower courts are holding up many of the president's priorities, but nothing has risen to the Supreme Court where these battles over presidential power could rewrite history. Presidents often push limits — FDR's New Deal for example — and voters in this last election wanted change. But the scope and speed of Trump's reach for power may be unprecedented. One example is a 63-year-old agency created by Congress, codified in law and eviscerated, by Trump, in a matter of days.

Kristina Drye: People are really scared. I think that, you know, 12 days ago, people knew where their next paycheck was coming from. They knew how they were gonna pay for their kids' daycare, their medical bills. And then, all gone overnight.

'All gone, overnight,' for Kristina Drye and Adam Dubard — fired this month in the chaotic shutdown of foreign aid distributed by the U.S. Agency for International Development, USAID. More than 8,000 USAID employees were sent home by the administration.

Adam Dubard: They're not looking for competency. They're not looking for-- if you are good at your job. They're looking for pure loyalty tests and if you don't give it, you will be punished.

“Chris Coons let his daughter be molested by Joe Biden.”

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Beat me to it. Yep...standing right there with a possum-poop-eating-grin while Biden did his common Biden biz with the young lady. Disgusting.
In the same official ceremony, Biden tried to do a feel-up on Jeff Sessions’ granddaughter, and Sessions quickly swatted Biden’s hand away.
Trump was elected and he appointed them to audit and review the departments under the branch of government he heads up. Presidents are empowered to do that.
Kristina Drye - Is not some flunky plucked from obscurity for several interviews to include 60 Minutes. How does she keep getting "selected"? She worked for Samantha Powell. She's a professional flunky.
Worked through XLA and Jefferson Partners to support the USAID Administration team, serving on the speechwriting and communications group for Administrator of USAID Samantha Power. She's the one that complained that they ran and hid their Pride flags, pictures with Power and books.
Thats exactly what they are doing Coons. They are sucking up all the data. Petabytes worth.
They will import it all into a AI managed relational database and set interesting queries against that data.
In a rational country, that would undoubtedly lead to many thousands of people, many in high goobermint offices, being prosecuted.
This “unelected” stuff is just stupid. If no one who is “unelected” can view or do anything else with information that the government holds, then we don’t need ANY staff-level federal employees, because they’re ALL unelected. The other response to this idiocy is that DOGE answers to an elected official, which would be President Trump. So the companion claim the left is making that DOGE has no accountability is nonsense, because they answer to Trump, who was elected by the people and who can be impeached by the people’s representatives if they really feel DOGE is out of control.
I’ve also heard leftist dems claim that federal employees don’t work for Trump, they work “for the American people.” While true in a philosophical sense, someone still has to lead and manage them, and that person is the President. The people exercise their will for the bureaucracy through their choice of President.
Would he be happier if an elected member of the executive branch did the audit? I'm imagining Trump and Vance being lowered on ropes into the server room at USAID to tap into it.
JD typing on a computer with the screen showing characters on his face like here's staring into an overhead projector. He then looks up and says "We're in!" And Trump does his YMCA dance to celebrate.
“Give it a go anyway.”
Ok, let’s see how it goes... I am a techie. So as a techie I am going to have to be honest and unbiased when I say he has a point.
While what Musk and his team are doing is absolutely fantastic and priceless and absolutely needs to be done... The concept of allowing him to send data from these systems to other 3rd party private servers would be an absolute huge violation of trust and should never happen period. Inspecting is one thing, gathering and sending to a 3rd party private server is an absolutely no no.
Another no no would be to install permanent backdoors with the software he is currently using to do these inspections. There is a line he should never be allowed to cross and this needs to be made absolutely clear and set in stone without any compromise.
Other than that, keep on keeping on and get it done... Expose these bastards...
