Does the light scatter that black holes produce mean there are actually fewer objects than we are seeing in the night skies?
Thank you.
Light doesn't have mass. Light has energy and momentum, but no mass.
So gravity is bending the path, where as the photon is still straight in the precieved line?
“You are moving at about 5436 mph
on Earths surface.”
My ground speed is 0.0 mph.
I believe God created the heavens and the Earth..
How it was done, I’m still learning.
One thing I do know is something this
well ordered world was not some random event,
as atheists would lead you to believe.
Sorry I was a mathematics major before
I became an engineer.
btw if you really understood betting
odds, you’d shoot the idiots that claim
to be good at it.
“Gravity affects every thing that has mass.”
Mass warps space-time.
Maybe light likes it that way.
That gravity IS space?
Agreed!
If you in an aircraft doing 600 mph, you do not notice it.
It is the sudden stops that get attention!
“How is a photon’s path of direction changed by gravity without having mass?”
Gravity warps space-time. Photons just follow along.
Gravity and space/time is fun.
“btw if you really understood betting
odds, you’d shoot the idiots that claim
to be good at it.”
Are you drunk?
“And the mosquito fly around inside a car that hits a concrete bridge pillar at 70+\- mph is not harmed.”
The mosquitos is going to smack something at 70 mph. That will hurt.
“Stars are receeding away from us faster than that.”
Stars like Clint Eastwood, James Woods and Thomas Selleck aren’t ashamed to stand their ground.
“bend” not “scatter”...
It helps us see things otherwise too far away, or blocked out, to observe...
No!
Just a guy that nearly earned a Mathematician
BS before over time work
and family interfered.
I used to call Statistics class “Sadistic s class”
Idiots ran those classes.
I learned real mathematics, not how to be a gambler.
I did finally get a BS in computer science.
If you don’t understand math you will fail there.
I once designed a program that could
solve Calculus equations, try that some time!
Not an expert but every example of gravitational lensing I have seen causes extremely distorted images of galaxies. There are few distorted galaxies seen so I would guess very few of the ones we see are gravitationally lensed.
That would imply there are not a lot fewer galaxies than astronomers thought.
For what is known by man fills only one written page. What is not known by man and woman fills infinite pages in infinite books in infinite libraries. Progress IS only in the eye of the beholder.
Thank God, America has President Trump or I would be more confused than I currently am. May President Trump, God’s ordained person for this time in the world’s history be All God expected, both past and present. Whatever the present IS never trust a democrat or a rino. Too many horns.
I think light bends as it approaches the perimeter of the universe. The closer one gets to the edge of the universe, the more the mass from the rest of the universe is behind you. Near the edge of the universe, practically the entire mass of the universe is behind you, bending the light away from the edge and back towards the middle...
Eventually, things that appear to be very far away (the "oldest thing ever observed") may actually be bent light from closer things.

Aladdin had the INTEL. No joke. The message had been delivered across the world through Disney, no less. There goes the neighborhood but hey, gotta utilize those who are available. Looks like the vast throngs of extinguished luminaries were in the dark and unavailable, hiding from the light, as usual. Not the least bit animated. Sad.
It's a whole new world ♫:
Genesis 155. And he brought him outside, and said, Look now toward heaven, and count the stars, if you are able to count them; and he said to him, So shall your seed be:
6. And he believed in the Lord; and he counted it to him for righteousness:
if you are able to count them; and he said to him, So shall your seed be...
... which on the very lowest level is to say the very best of the best. Five stars! Top of the line! There's no competition! Ingenuity for the win, from Latin ingenuitās, (originally) the condition of being free-born or noble.
Derived terms
Yankee ingenuity
Definitely simple. That way you too, like the Monkees, can be a believer, with not a trace of doubt in your mind.
"Do you trust me? I can show you the world."
Look now toward heaven, and count the stars (here's the verse)--
The Hebrew word is "ha-kokavim" [הכוכבים] --
The letter hei [ה] is the definite article "the", and kokavim [כוכבים] are stars.
[ה] Hei = 5
Hei-kokavim IS 5 kokavim IS 5 stars.
If you are able to count them. See? Secrets of the universe made EZ.
People might think I'm joking. They'd be quite right and so very wrong all at the same time.
(Coming Soon! Your Surprise is Waiting.)

Oh, just one more thing...
Every little kid knows -- DO not mess with The Law.
Unbelievable sights
Indescribable feeling
Soaring, tumbling, freewheeling
Through an endless diamond sky
A whole new world (don't you dare close your eyes)
A hundred thousand things to see (hold your breath, it gets better)
I'm like a shooting star, I've come so far
I can't go back to where I used to be
A whole new world (every turn a surprise)
With new horizons to pursue (every moment, red-letter)
I'll chase them anywhere, there's time to spare
Let me share this whole new world with you.
❤️
The Law. Yeah, the Law*. Paradoxically, Jasmine waved a happy good-bye to the Tora at the very beginning of her journey (see the video linked above), in order to soar much much higher.
(..the stuff the grown-ups miss or unsee, which indicates that complete surprise has been achieved.)

🏃♀️ . . . . .
I wonder if astronomers have taken into account Black Holes that have consumed everything in their near vicinity, so they are not giving off any signals and are just there like a trap for unwitting travelers to fall into.
There could be millions of undetectable Black Holes out there in intergalactic and interstellar space............
