In chat: Because black holes distort and scatter
light , is our perception wrong and how many items exist in the universe?

Does the light scatter that black holes produce mean there are actually fewer objects than we are seeing in the night skies?
Thank you.

Cold-hearted orb that rules the night
Removes the colors from our sight
Red is grey and yellow-white
But we decide which is right
And which is an illusion

... and how many items exist in the universe?DOGE will soon have that answer for us.
Amazon will then put them on its website for sale. :)

I worked at Keck observatory for almost ten years.
Was mentored by the world’s best astronomers.
Some even corrected me on my Electronic engineering,
you cannot ignore physics.
Light bends or disappears in the force of gravity.
Light has mass!
Stars are out there,
Due to distances involved some may be gone,
But unless you are God our speed limit
is about 300 million meters per second.
Nearest star after our sun is about 4 years away.

Naked eye or by telescope? If naked eye, then no because there aren't any black holes close enough. The nearest known one is Gaia BH1 at 1500 light years, while
this page says 90% of the naked eye stars are within 1175 light years. Even if there were one, you couldn't separate the multiple images with your eye so it would look like one star, and when they are examined by telescope they would have the same spectrum sowould be obvious to anyone running the spectroscope.

As is touch.

Every description of light or photons says it doesn’t have mass. How are you able to describe light with a mass?

Stars are receeding away from us faster than that.

Never mind - it acts like it has mass relative to gravity.

At 30,000 mph it is about 10,000 years away.

How does a photon have mass?
Is it the measure of it’s energy?

Yeah!
I don’t believe in the “big bang”
but things out there are moving at tremendous
speeds, going somewhere!
You are moving at about 5436 mph
on Earths surface.
Our solar system is going about 516,000 mph
in the outer edge of our Milky way galaxy which is going about 1.34
million miles per hour.

How is a photon’s path of direction changed by gravity without having mass?
*Real question.

I think it is that photons have ‘momentum’. and gravity bends the momentum.
So while a photo has no mass, gravity bends its because of its momentum.
Einstein put it as space-time is warped. So light remains straight, it is just on curvy terrain …

A Catholic priest came up with the ‘Big Bang’
It was resisted for decades by secular scientists because it implied an act of creation.
To: Deaf Smith
Unless all our physics are BS,
Gravity affects every thing that has mass.
Note this Gravity doesn’t effect my thoughts
or beliefs.
