Cold-hearted orb that rules the night
Removes the colors from our sight
Red is grey and yellow-white
But we decide which is right
And which is an illusion

Light and color is a perception.

... and how many items exist in the universe?

DOGE will soon have that answer for us.

Amazon will then put them on its website for sale. :)

I worked at Keck observatory for almost ten years.
Was mentored by the world’s best astronomers.
Some even corrected me on my Electronic engineering,
you cannot ignore physics.

Light bends or disappears in the force of gravity.
Light has mass!
Stars are out there,
Due to distances involved some may be gone,
But unless you are God our speed limit
is about 300 million meters per second.
Nearest star after our sun is about 4 years away.

Naked eye or by telescope? If naked eye, then no because there aren't any black holes close enough. The nearest known one is Gaia BH1 at 1500 light years, while this page says 90% of the naked eye stars are within 1175 light years. Even if there were one, you couldn't separate the multiple images with your eye so it would look like one star, and when they are examined by telescope they would have the same spectrum sowould be obvious to anyone running the spectroscope.

Oh, Man! If the fraud and corruption at USAID had not been discovered, I could have started several NGOs and nonprofits with: BHM

"Distort and scatter light"

Maybe light likes it that way.

“bend” not “scatter”...

It helps us see things otherwise too far away, or blocked out, to observe...

Not an expert but every example of gravitational lensing I have seen causes extremely distorted images of galaxies. There are few distorted galaxies seen so I would guess very few of the ones we see are gravitationally lensed.

That would imply there are not a lot fewer galaxies than astronomers thought.

When looking into the sky am reminded am looking at what has passed. The present is illusion, or so we are told. When looking at our star we see what was approximately 9 minutes ago. Truly odd. Since one can only sense light from our star nine minutes ago, one can only approximate what takes place in the sky regarding a star light years from one’s location on Earth. The universe is definitely of God’s creation and man is given countless illusions. I wonder are the illusions of God or of demons? IS likely the illusions are created by demons and democrats.

For what is known by man fills only one written page. What is not known by man and woman fills infinite pages in infinite books in infinite libraries. Progress IS only in the eye of the beholder.

Thank God, America has President Trump or I would be more confused than I currently am. May President Trump, God’s ordained person for this time in the world’s history be All God expected, both past and present. Whatever the present IS never trust a democrat or a rino. Too many horns.

I've had similar thoughts.

I think light bends as it approaches the perimeter of the universe.

The closer one gets to the edge of the universe, the more the mass from the rest of the universe is behind you. Near the edge of the universe, practically the entire mass of the universe is behind you, bending the light away from the edge and back towards the middle...

Eventually, things that appear to be very far away (the "oldest thing ever observed") may actually be bent light from closer things.

The star topic again, Yay! This looks fun!

(A dramatic total lunar eclipse is coming. You don't want to miss it.)

Aladdin had the INTEL. No joke. The message had been delivered across the world through Disney, no less. There goes the neighborhood but hey, gotta utilize those who are available. Looks like the vast throngs of extinguished luminaries were in the dark and unavailable, hiding from the light, as usual. Not the least bit animated. Sad.

It's a whole new world ♫:

Genesis 15

5. And he brought him outside, and said, Look now toward heaven, and count the stars, if you are able to count them; and he said to him, So shall your seed be:
6. And he believed in the Lord; and he counted it to him for righteousness:

if you are able to count them; and he said to him, So shall your seed be...

... which on the very lowest level is to say the very best of the best. Five stars! Top of the line! There's no competition! Ingenuity for the win, from Latin ingenuitās, (originally) the condition of being free-born or noble.

Derived terms
Yankee ingenuity

Definitely simple. That way you too, like the Monkees, can be a believer, with not a trace of doubt in your mind.

"Do you trust me? I can show you the world."

Look now toward heaven, and count the stars (here's the verse)--

The Hebrew word is "ha-kokavim" [הכוכבים] --

The letter hei [ה] is the definite article "the", and kokavim [כוכבים] are stars.

[ה] Hei = 5

Hei-kokavim IS 5 kokavim IS 5 stars.

If you are able to count them. See? Secrets of the universe made EZ.

People might think I'm joking. They'd be quite right and so very wrong all at the same time.

(Coming Soon! Your Surprise is Waiting.)

😉

Oh, just one more thing...

Every little kid knows -- DO not mess with The Law.

Unbelievable sights
Indescribable feeling
Soaring, tumbling, freewheeling
Through an endless diamond sky

A whole new world (don't you dare close your eyes)
A hundred thousand things to see (hold your breath, it gets better)
I'm like a shooting star, I've come so far
I can't go back to where I used to be

A whole new world (every turn a surprise)
With new horizons to pursue (every moment, red-letter)
I'll chase them anywhere, there's time to spare
Let me share this whole new world with you.

❤️

The Law. Yeah, the Law*. Paradoxically, Jasmine waved a happy good-bye to the Tora at the very beginning of her journey (see the video linked above), in order to soar much much higher.

(..the stuff the grown-ups miss or unsee, which indicates that complete surprise has been achieved.)
