@RandPaul
Now that Republican Budget resolutions are moving forward, we should look closely.
The Senate calls for $900 billion less in on-budget spending and $325 billion more in new spending?
Sounds like less spending . . . but is it?
To offset the new spending and meet a goal of reduced spending, $900 billion in spending must be cut in the remaining 6 months of fiscal 2025 to meet the budget targets.
Yet no one and, I mean NO one, believes the necessary cuts will actually occur this year. (We are told to hold our applause until next year, the ever-elusive next year.)
Unfortunately, next month Big Govt. Republicans will also vote to add $300b for CA wildfires, making the deficit this year around $2.2 trillion.
Beware a Republican majority whose first use of their power is to increase spending and expand the deficit!
Beware of any promise to reduce the deficit . . . next year.

Some of the states where Trump had his largest margins of victory are giant welfare pits.
Yea, but we’re the passengers.
Yes it is, and he wants to raise the debt limit to do it.
We need to remind Trump that he was elected to bring down the debt, not raise it.
The whole reason DOGE has found all of this waste and corruption is because the Alphabet Soup agencies know they have an unlimited supply of money on tap..
Not setting a hard limit on debt will only result in these agencies continuing their bad behavior when Trump's term is over.
To replace 16,000 California houses with 16,000 Florida million-dollar houses is $16 billion.
Maybe a California senator might resign and Newsom can appoint a Republican picked by Trump.
A ‘hard limit” won’t fly in DC.
DC politicians think it’s ‘free’ money from the national credit card.
The corporate income tax rate might be increased annually by the percentage the national debt is.
Wall Street will understand what that could mean.
It would take two to three years for corporate tax rates to reach pre-Trump levels, then without balanced budgets the corporate tax rate would climb annually.
It will be completely acceptable because they have an “R” behind their names. Only the democrats are not allowed to do this...
So proud that he’s one of my Kentucky Senators. The other one (McConnell), not so much.
Who is going to replace McConnell?
I don't know. My Congressman, Andy Barr, announced he is running. Maybe Thomas Massie will run as well.
I have gone back to WA DC to lobby my congressional delegation a number of times. They view big spending as a way to “buy the allegiance of and election support” of many special interest groups. It is an embedded part of the WA DC culture and will take time to change without voter support.
This is why Trump needs to use the Bully Pulpit to show the voters that waste that is happening with their tax money and that a new accountability to coming to town. He needs to get voters to call their Senators and Congress person to support wasted and fraud elimination. House and Senate elected officials and their staff need to understand that voters want efficiency, less government and will vote out anyone who gets in the way of what Trump is doing.
CALIF GETTING ALOT OF ATTENTION.

These Big Government Republicans are always going to “tackle the budget” and “make the hard choices” next year. Meanwhile we keep getting deeper in debt.
