@RandPaul
Now that Republican Budget resolutions are moving forward, we should look closely.
The Senate calls for $900 billion less in on-budget spending and $325 billion more in new spending?
Sounds like less spending . . . but is it?
To offset the new spending and meet a goal of reduced spending, $900 billion in spending must be cut in the remaining 6 months of fiscal 2025 to meet the budget targets.
Yet no one and, I mean NO one, believes the necessary cuts will actually occur this year. (We are told to hold our applause until next year, the ever-elusive next year.)
Unfortunately, next month Big Govt. Republicans will also vote to add $300b for CA wildfires, making the deficit this year around $2.2 trillion.
Beware a Republican majority whose first use of their power is to increase spending and expand the deficit!
Beware of any promise to reduce the deficit . . . next year.

I thought it’s what Trump wanted.
They will load those bills up you know what will happen
And the CA fires
Does not sound great from Rand anyway.
Shut the government down for a month. See if anyone notices.
The GOP_e in the Senate lead by little Lindsey (Swish-SC) is simply re-arranging the deck chairs of the budget
President Trump is going to have to rely on the US House to do all the heavy lifting via Reconciliation go get around the promised Democrat Senate filibuster
Make Commiepornians pay for voting Demonicrat state government who contributed a large part to the damage.
$300B if a bunch of mansions in the Palisades gets burned, but suffer a onesy-twosy house fire everywhere else in the country and no such luck.
That is approximately $1,000 for every man, woman and child in the country. Approximately $3,000 for every taxpayer.
How can that be fair or right?
Deficits and debt will continue to expand to destroy us all. Without massive cuts to the Four Horsemen of spending, SSI, medicare, medicaid and dod, nothing will get fixed.
Wary of it...if it wasn’t for Trump’s veto it would be a given!!
There’s no majority of CONSERVATIVES in either chamber.
Rs yes. Cs, no. Big difference.
They dont have the stomach for it but they better find it.
Everybody wants spending cuts, except for their pet programs.
Blame the voters more than anything.
Like watching a car wreck
Rand is right to be wary. The RINOs love their pork.
Trump will likely do a deal and sign it to get his priorities
through
They dont spend months on things like this this for nothing.
dfwgator is right unfortunately.
Not an optimistic note from Rand I’m sad to say...
$300 billion for California?
That is insane!
You wonder why a State that votes overwhelmingly for Trump votes for a Democratic Senator? It’s strictly based on their ability to bring home the pork.
Yea, but we’re the passengers.
Steve Bannon is saying pretty much the same thing as Rand Paul.
Namely, forget about what will be spent in the next 10 years. No, look at how much will be spent in 2025.
Also, we need to keep in mind that only 100 GOP House Members have joined the new DOGE caucus.
Why haven’t the other 120 GOP House Members joined?
“””$300 billion for California?
That is insane!”””
Trump did say no money to California without Voter ID in CA.
Let’s see if Trump keeps this promise. So far he has kept promises.
I like Rand, but he’s been in the Senate a while. He should know politics. It’s not enough to tilt at windmills like Don Quixote.
What is he doing about it, besides throwing rocks? Who is he aligned with, and why not Trump? Stop Lindsey Graham and make sure he has nothing to do but rearrange furniture.
It’s as if Donald Trump is, single-handedly, trying to remake the Republican Party and the Republicans are just waiting for him to be gone.
