There's something wrong. And I think it's something that can be found out."

I think the same thing with various food allergies. It seems more prominent now to have some kind of intolerance to certain food, that I don’t remember being such a big deal when I was younger.
My wife just tells me it’s because diagnosing is better now. Basically, saying that people had these allergies at the same rate, but weren’t diagnosed, or the testing wasn’t there. I don ‘t really buy that excuse.
Part of the problem is has become and SSI cash cow for single mothers.
Yes.
Autism was initially quite a serious condition.
It became pretty much anything over the decades.
And then the lunatics began saying it’s due to vaccination.
Hysteria and it all came from the left envirowackos and anti-capitalists.
The disability industrial complex is at work. Doctors diagnose it, you get stipends, the kid gets special accommodations at school, et al.

How does a kid fake autism?
Have you ever known someone with autism?
I’m guessing no.
A major part of human life, is learning and self-discipline.
Where the mind is slow, learning to apply your self, steadily.
Where the mind is fast, learning to gently pull back on the reins.
The opposition to that:
“In the absense of a controlling legal authority . . . “ said Al Gore, is essentially the “progressives’” rationale, that a person should engage in experimentation (putting their obsessive compulsive chaos, mildly) until encountering a barrier. Always learning, if learning be allowed, THE HARD WAY.
Your wife is not correct.
When statistical modeling is done the mis and under diagnosis is accounted for.
The rise in chronic diseases amongst children and adults is real.
The hard part, especially for some worldwide trends such as autism, is figuring out the cause/causes.
Careful Donald, Michael Savage got in big trouble right here on this board for making pretty much the same observation years ago.
[My wife just tells me it’s because diagnosing is better now. Basically, saying that people had these allergies at the same rate, but weren’t diagnosed, or the testing wasn’t there. I don ‘t really buy that excuse.]
Well, 100 years ago, an anaphylactic reaction to a food just meant you died and didn’t pass the food sensitivity genes to the next generation.
Most people with allergies are self diagnosed. They have learned to avoid foods that make them feel bad.
I also wonder if the baby food industry and the prepackaged food industry is also part of the problem. Toddlers are no longer introduced to a wide variety of foods and are fed a diet of convenience foods pretty much all with the same cheap industrial agricultural ingredients. Same problem with infant formula. Breastfed babies know when mama ate garlic or horseradish.
My babies ate what their parents ate, only it was ground or mashed up until they had enough teeth.
Bingo
Ask any pharmaceutical rep why they like to focus on certain doctors who have high percentages of patients that receive medicaid and medicare relief.
No, the lunatics are those that rule out possibilities without sufficient evidence otherwise. This has become epidemic since the start of the Covid hysteria.
I did not say all of them are fakes. But it doesn’t change the fact that some of them are fakes who were just very poorly parented and encouraged to act out for the sake of the check.
Our church has a special needs ministry. The kids in that program cannot possibly be faking it.
Nonverbal, hand flapping, and tip toe walking.
I first learned about autism in the 80s in high school health class. They said not to worry because it was so rare.
Not anymore.
Something is causing this, time to find out.
Autism is not faked.
It is strange that the numbers keep going up. Something moms are ingesting, maybe. Some families have several autistic kids, even with variations in the severity.
Autism spectrum , truly Autistic children with specific syndromes is much different than those on the spectrum. In order to get ssdi , a parent just needs to have lots of appointments by therapists, documented complaints, where mom is primary reporter of problem. My son in law is a speech pathologist, you’d be amazed at what single moms do.
How large of a church do you attend ?
