Wow, what crap IMHO. I remember storming the field in 74, it was glorious. Sometimes it's just worth it. Yea, it hurts the losing teams feelings, too bad.

That said, any violence against the other team is unacceptable.

Sounds like it’s time for Byrne to forfeit his position.

InB4 road teams learn they can get cheap wins by traveling heavy and having their fans storm the court...

Scroo you, SEC! If that’s your REAL name. The fans paid for that field. And your ridiculously lucrative salaries.

Its dangerous. There are good reasons why the league has sought to ban it. My own alma mater UF hasn’t seen fans storm the field in over 40 years. The field being ringed by cops complete with police dogs and the universal knowledge that you’ll face stiff penalties if you try it might have a little something to do with that.

If other schools actually wanted to stop fans from storming the field, they could.

I could see the opposing team getting some friendly “fans” to charge the field as if that team’s fans.

Punish the players for the sins of the fans? Lame.

What counts as a “storm?” 10 fans? 25? 100? 250? ...

Fans storming the field and tearing down the goal posts used to be a regular thing.

Sounds good to me. It’s silly, it’s dangerous, it often damages the playing surface, and course in football frequently ends in tearing down the goal posts. Some traditions need to end.

Outrageous. Why should a team — or anyone else— get punished for third party actions that they cannot control?

This country simply cannot restrain itself from crushing good clean innocent fun. EVERYTHING has to be deeply organized, regulated, controlled and follow a tangle of arbitrary rules.

Better idea water cannons rubber bullets and police dogs it worked in a 1960s oh yeah and don’t forget the long riot batons punished idiot fans not the players. Throw in some mass arrests big mandatory non-dismissible fines it’ll stop overnight.

Idiots. There will be false fans storming the field to throw the game to their team.
