Super Bowl LIX shattered records as NFL fans tuned in or streamed the Philadelphia Eagles’ blowout win over the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday night, 40-22, in New Orleans.
FOX Sports announced on Monday that a projected average of 126 million watched the game across FOX, FOX Deportes, Tubi, Telemundo and NFL Digital properties. The game was broadcast on FOX and streamed live for free on Tubi for the first time ever. About 135.7 million viewers tuned in at the peak, which FOX Sports said was between 8 and 8:15 p.m. ET in the second quarter of the game. By that time, the Eagles were already well on their way to a big victory. Additionally, FOX Sports said 14.5 million streamed the game on Tubi and NFL Digital properties. Tubi received 13.6 million viewers alone. On Tuesday, FOX Sports said it had 127.7 million viewers across all platforms with a peak of 137.7 million viewers watching the Eagles' win. The Eagles won the game behind outstanding performances from quarterback Jalen Hurts and the defense, which was able to torment Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and shut down the offense almost completely. Hurts was named Super Bowl MVP.
"This is the ultimate team game. You can’t be great without the greatness of others. Great performance by everybody — offense, defense, special teams," head coach Nick Sirianni said. "We didn’t really ever care what anyone thought about how we won, or their opinions. All we want to do is win."
The game also featured the Chiefs’ shot at three consecutive Super Bowl titles, Kendrick Lamar's halftime performance, a Taylor Swift appearance and an historic visit from President Donald Trump, who became the first sitting president to attend a Super Bowl.

Traditional2, you and I saw exactly the same amount.
millions of people watched to see if the kick return would be longer than 26.26 yards or if a third string RB got over 2.67 yards.. or whatever the gambling sites were peddling.
between 8 and 8:15 p.m.
They didn’t watch the game, they just checked in to see what the score was and post game highlights.
EAGLES CURB STOMPED MAHOMES!
The ads were atrocious only slightly better than the halftime ugliness. The only cute one was that of the little girl planting the potato and caring for it as it grew.
“How many were watching just to see the rumored Musk commercials?”
We were. Whoever came up with that marketing lie was an evil genious!
Good choice. I watched 2 minutes of it and then went outside to throw the ball for my doggie.
I call BS, the game was a blow out and the half time show suckedw
Why cede the territory to the Left. Football is OUR game, not theirs’!
I tuned in JUST to see the rumored DOGE commercials.
Anyone else?
I didn’t start watching until I saw that the Eagles were up 24-0, then I watched the rest of the game just I could see the Chief finally get their up and comings, and yes, hopefully TS will now slink back into the shadows.
That ship sailed a long time ago. The NFL owners are leftists who hate Americans.
Projected average...
Goosed by Trump’s appearance, Swift, and the DOGE ad rumors...
Wonder what size audience was sold to advertisers?
Any makegoods necessary?
Inquiring minds want to know...
I think everyone is missing how pivotal was this years HT show.
Now, I get that rap isn’t THE most popular genre in FR. It may rank somewhere below classical but above world music and Springsteen. And to be fair, Mr Lamar isn’t in my turntable or record collection.
But Kendrick Lamar’s performance had the following awesome qualities that people are missing for the most part:
1. Unlike the Paris Olympics opening ceremony, Lamar’s performance wasn’t a demonic bacchanalia.
2. No transvestites.
3. For people who still treasure morality, there wasn’t an armada of girls with their chests and butts spilling into your family’s living room. No Madonna, no Shakira, no JLo, no Lady Gaga, no Beyoncé, no wardrobe malfunction!
4. There was more red, white and blue than in most of the boring commercials.
5. Lamar didn’t have a tricked-out ride onstage- he had a 1987 Buick GNX. A BUICK!
6. Samuel L. Jackson was the emcee….he’s been in movies grossing about $12.5 billion. Forget TSwift - she’s a piker compared this guy.
7. Security tackled the pro-Palestine protester.
Now, we can debate rap music, though in all honesty there hasn’t been an acceptable musical group at the SB since The Who in 2010, or an entertainer since Bruno Mars in 2014 (The Weeknd was ok, and the 2022 HT show had fun props and set designs). I also suspect Lamar may not be in FR - but I doubt he’s on DU, either.
But with 2025, Kendrick Lamar signaled that the filthy, anti-American pornographers et al that had been in charge of the halftime show, blinked.
We won. They lost.
Awesome qualities, you say? In that his raunch fest wasn't as bad as the opening ceremonies at Paris? No trannies?
I could spend an hour or so completely tearing apart your every point, but I'll not waste my time any further.
It was very enjoyable to watch the hyped Chiefs lose so hard.
raunch
noun
ˈrȯnch ˈränch
: VULGARITY, LEWDNESS
Here’s the entire performance by Lamar-https://youtu.be/KDorKy-13ak?si=rsJj7-hI_fbMVkYc
Please identify where there is raunch.
Relatedly, as for the “serious decline of our cultural heritage”, which is a fair statement, explain how Lamar’s show is worse than that from Beyoncé (https://youtu.be/yw7HHSr5uyY) or Shakira and JLo (https://youtu.be/pILCn6VO_RU). Parenthetically, these two performances fit the raunch description.
Thanks for your contribution.
Fair comments, I don’t entirely agree though
First Jackson thinks Trump is a racist, that’s a big one for me
I don’t care for TS’s politics, but I like some of her music, and she would appeal to a different segment of the audience, better yet a good old fashioned rock band.
Second, according to Fox this was the most watched SB and halftime show, and the “entertainment “ chosen IMO, appealed to a small percentage of the audience, why?
Third, was there a reason that the performers were almost exclusively black? Other halftime shows have had a mix of genres and performers.
What would the reaction have been if the halftime show had been exclusively country music?
Fourth black “national anthem “, was there an Indian national anthem, Hispanic national anthem, Asian national anthem….
As a viewer there was no little that appealed to me
Just my 2 cents
Fair points. Let me clarify.
I don’t hate rap but, outside of one song, it’s not on my playlist. Many on FR are prolly in the same boat. I’d rather listen to free jazz or classical, but I’ll spin a Run DMC album before Springsteen. Parenthetically, I’ll listen to TSwift before Lamar, but that’s a very low bar for me.
That doesn’t matter - https://musicalpursuits.com/music-streaming/. R&B/hip hop make up about 1/3 of all streams. It’s big.
I suspect the demographics of SB viewers line up with that fanbase more than rock, pop, or country. Indeed, when the Who was the HT act the demographics lined up then. The times are changing, ergo why we see so many HT shows in the R&B/hip hop genre.
Mr Jackson may be anti-Trump, but at least he’s still living in America unlike the traitors (or people on the verge of being in a Diddy dragnet…) who moved to Europe. If he was an AOC- or Squad- or Michael Moore-level crank he wouldn’t have been in red, white, and blue. Point taken, though.
On the multiple national anthems, interestingly, the NFL caught heat for dropping the End Racism wording around the end zones. They made their bed.
Again, I want to be clear. I’m not saying that we are at the level of change we’d see with a Kid Rock HT show. But considering the filth we had over the past decade, this HT show demonstrates that the Authorities don’t want to alienate (or maybe they simply fear…) normal Americans vs previously.
YMMV. Thanks for listening.
