Scholz slams Trump’s ‘self-centered’ bid to link Ukraine aid to rare earths access

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has sharply criticized U.S. President Donald Trump’s proposal to tie future military aid for Ukraine to access to its rare earth resources, calling the move "very egotistic, very self-centered."

Scholz said that Ukraine needs its natural resources to finance post-war rebuilding, not to bargain for security assistance. "That's why I think it would be better if Ukraine's resources were used for a good future," he said.

However, Ukraine appears more open to the idea — at least the opening up of its critical raw materials to allies, if not explicitly the quid pro quo suggested by Trump — than Scholz’s remarks suggest.

Sharing Ukrainian resources with allies is part of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s broader "victory plan" for the war with Russia, which has been presented to foreign leaders, including Trump.

Trump, who has repeatedly hinted at scaling back U.S. support for Ukraine, suggested that American assistance should be contingent on securing rights to Ukraine’s valuable deposits. "We’re investing hundreds of billions of dollars. They have great rare earths, and I want security of the rare earths," he said in Washington.

Germany, the country that hasn’t paid its fair share for NATO for years, and can only get 12 working tanks together in 2021, suddenly says the United States is self centered……..

Really you can’t make that $hit up.

If the U.S. does scale back “investments” in Ukraine, Germany is free to up their investments. Have at it!

What’s so self centered about giving them weapons (good for them) and getting mineral access (good for us)? To them self centered is “US giveaway with no strings attached” which has been our policy for 50 years at least but in case they failed to notice, we are a broke debtor nation these days.

ZELENSKY WAS FORCED INTO WAR BY USAID NGOs!

As Arestovich said: "Ukraine was hired, like Indians, for a typhus blanket for the war with Russia"

Less than a month after Zelensky won the election, 70 Ukrainian USAID funded NGOs presented him with a memorandum on red lines he should not cross.

These 70 USAID funded NGOs declared themselves guardians of civil society and stated that they were deeply concerned about the first steps of the new president.

They said, If the President crosses these red lines, it will indicate that he does not seek real democratic change and does not wish to establish a more honest and responsible government, even though he promised to do so during the election period.

The red lines they de facto banned any attempt to negotiate with Putin, revise the language law, etc., so USAID put Ukraine on a path for war.

In particular, they stated that such red lines would be:

- holding a referendum on the format of the negotiations to be used with the Russian Federation and on the principles for a peaceful settlement

- conducting separate negotiations – without the participation of Ukraine’s Western partners – with the Russian Federation, members of the occupation authorities and their armed groups and gangs in the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk Oblasts, Crimea and Sevastopol

- fulfilling the ultimatum requirements demanded by the aggressor state or achieving a compromise with the Kremlin at the cost of making concessions to the detriment of national interests, national sovereignty, territorial integrity and order, and independent domestic and foreign policies of Ukraine

- inhibiting the implementation of security and defense policies outlined in the Strategic Defense Bulletin of Ukraine

If US gets mining rights in Ukraine, they could probably go into sovereign wealth fund. A trilateral agreement with Russia would obviously make it more secure.
China has used the loan shark approach all over the world.

After shoveling $200 billion est into Ukraine in 3 years, Americans are due for a reset on compensation
