I don't believe the tech giants when they sell me on the idea of an easier and wealthier life. They will cut me out completely when they can, just like they will do to everybody else.

Jill Biden AI?

That’s the point. ‘They’ want to replace the forgotten man with the foreign man. If not the foreign man, the robotic man. The onslaught of tech on the commons is just getting warmed up.

> The report comes days after Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said that AI could replace mid-level software engineers as early as this year.

Oh good, so we let's cancel the H1-B visa program right now.

They told laid off factory workers to learn to code.

When they learned to code they were replaced with H1B workers.

Then when AI learned to code it replaced the H1B workers.

Then AI was used to control robots to replace manual labor jobs.

Question is if AI is so productive who will buy the products since everyone is out of a job?

We used to call that Piled Higher and Deeper. I’ve met a LOT of PhDs who didn’t have enough sense to come in out of the rain.

A just machine to make big decisions
Programmed by fellows with compassion and vision
We’ll be clean when their work is done
We’ll be eternally free yes and eternally young

What a beautiful world this will be
What a glorious time to be free

Jill Biden goes neurolink?

I trust only two types of government employees. The first happen to be the garbage collection folks. The second, are the sewage treatment and water treatment plant operators and engineers.

That's it.

People tend to conflate program generators and expert systems to consciousness...

It is foolish thinking..

These are advanced tools that leverage the increasing speed of computation.... they will get far more advanced... but cannot achieve consciousness.

Computation and automation based upon logic gates is at its core an attempt to surpass our human limitations related to time itself... the creation of written language is also an attempt to overcome our time related limitations.. i.e. If I can write down my thoughts on a stone tablet or whatever then my thoughts can be carried into eternity and can keep future generations from having to re-invent the wheel :-)

Computation using logic gates allows us to do things that we could do ourselves... if only we had the time!

Computers at a basic level are very simple and are constructed using very elementary logic gates.. You can build such gates using relays, tubes, transistors..etc

You build these gates into complex systems and after fiddling around for a few years and learning to program what steps they need to complete to perform a function you eventually get to some rudimentary system that ordinary folks can get some use out of i.e. an Apple II running on a simple 8-bit CPU like the 6502.

As stated in his seminal paper written in the 30s Alan Turing describes a universal computing machine that can perform any computation/program with the only real difference between this very basic machine and the most modern super-computer being the SPEED with which it can operate and arrive at a solution.

And so, reasoning in a sort of reductio ad absurdum way, ANY claim that ANY computer system can achieve consciousness also means that a very simple system, like say an old VIC 20, being a fair example of a Turing universal machine, could also achieve consciousness if only given enough time to complete the processes....lol

Massive computational power reduces the time it takes to perform a task and allows us to do things in an instant that would require billions of people working feverishly to do.. i.e. Protein folding algorithms run nicely on super-computers but all of humanity working with pencil and paper could never do it because of time limitations... so we create the tools (computers) to speed up the work.

The entirety of computer science boils down to a way to speed things up, necessity is the mother of invention. We humans work very slowly and we have distressingly short lives... so we need a crutch and that crutch is computer technology.

If you create a massive database comprising a large portion of human knowledge and history and write the code to automate the assembly of and testing of that data with the aim of ferreting out important data and techniques then you have what we now call AI. but it is simply a fast Turing universal machine playing with a database... there is no consciousness to be found in it... it’s a tool.

TechnoFeudalism advances, with support of the billionaires (who need note be named). An Executive Order issued yesterday removes any guardrails and limits. It is a national security issue, IMO, but people can keep their heads in the sand if they want.

Humans will be superfluous and flushed by those with power. You aren’t need or desired.

Not really comfortable le with this! Firet off the dude fhst walked funny stated that they could “create mrna vaccines in a matter of 4 hours” with the new “smart ai”, and second, the small Japanese fella stated that this is just the beginning, that a “super ai” was on the way, which I think is code for what will likely become a “one world governmdnt/religion” “entity” which world leaders will “look to for guidance” on all manner of policy, touting g it as “bipartisan” and “objective”, but it will be anything but a deceitful g disguised l8beral policy maker, fully biased, but disguised enough to “look and sound unbiased and objective”

It certainly “appears” like Davos ilk trying to create a God in their own image- even the name, Stargate was used by Microsoft in 2024 for their new ambitious ai agenda.

Yes, in g he right hands it will be tremendously helpful, and yes, for docs all o ed thr nation, surgeons too. It will be tremendously helpful, tk have instant access to data for disgnksis and sueveries, however In the wrong g hands like power drunk megarich it can and will be used for evil! They are already talking about creating mrna vaccins with it on the fly. Not cool!

Oh, and they are now creating commercials that manipulate our dreams- was on g he news the other day. Davos ilk stated also that they want to control what people think- I think the next few years are going to see rapid movement toward that ,ind of Control, and ai development by power drunk fools hoping to control nations. ‘
