People With HIV Report Roadblocks to Joining the Military, Despite Court Rulings in Their Favor
POZ ^ | January 17, 2025 | Trent Straube

Last August, a federal judge ruled that Americans living with HIV who maintain an undetectable viral load can enlist in the U.S. Armed Services, thus striking down a long-running and discriminatory ban. However, as NBC News reports this week, several people with HIV say they’ve been prohibited from enlisting or have faced roadblocks.

What’s more, advocates are concerned that the Biden administration did not move fast enough to ensure the implementation of the judge’s ruling and has likely left the issue in the hands of the incoming Trump team, which has already signaled its hostility to LGBTQ service members.

Everyone in the military is presumed a potential blood donor in the event casualties require it.

Remember reading about a Marine boot who had allergic reaction to insects biting him. Was medically removed from service.

If you have a blood borne disease, you should not be allowed in the military.

Almost unlike any other disease, HIV is a ticking time bomb, even if currently "under control." It only takes a couple of weeks for the virus to become detectable, and therefore transmittable, if current medications stop working or the individual contracts a different, drug-resistant strain.

If for no other reason, these individuals are absolutely disqualified as blood donors in the event of battlefield injuries.

One thing HIV people trying to enter the military are looking for is perpetual free taxpayer funded medical care and drugs for their condition

Not only make the roadblocks stronger, dig up the road and plant oak trees where it used to be.

The only way to do that would be to discharge everyone who is HIV positive, and that’s going to be a hard row to hoe.

I had a lot of HIV positive people commit serious crimes for the free inmate medical care. just like sick Mexicans, do a 2 year sentence and let the US tax payers fix you up, free dental included and then return home healthy.

Well, it is time to start digging.

"The only way to do that would be to discharge everyone who is HIV positive, and that’s going to be a hard row to hoe."

Explain.

A big problem the military is having is that, for transsexuals, and HIV carriers, the military medical system is not able to provide the hormone treatments and HIV controlling drugs they require, therefore they can't serve outside CONUS. This greatly limits their usefulness.

Another unmentioned problem is that Obama's DADT military has created a sexual mine field. Gay senior NCOs, male and female, can prey on EMs, without punishment, and threaten officers with sexual blackmail if the seniors protest. A sexual harassment charge, or being tagged as homophobic is an automatic career killer and will get you RIFed out in half a heartbeat. And all it takes is a pissed off gay woman who doesn't get instant gratification.

The poison is the Pink Mafia. This is the name given the gay predators, who can install their lovers in key positions. A niece of mine is bailing from the Army because she turned down an sexual advance from a female warrant officer, and wound up in Alaska the following month, not an ideal duty station for an NBC Warfare instructor.

Diabetes, epilepsy and a host of other conditions disqualify people from joining the armed forces. Enlisting is not a right. It’s selective.

Explain.

Possession and ex post facto application of law.

Most leftist courts would not allow Trump to expel a service member with HIV who obtained a "special dispensation" to serve. I agree that its a detriment to military readiness and a standing liability to service. But a tacit "promise" was made and can't be withdrawn without a LOT of legal wrangling, and that can take well more than a single presidential term.

Their first step was allowing service members who contracted HIV after they enlisted to remain, but being classified as "non-deployable." That was the camel's nose under the tent. Everything that followed was predictable.

I’m with you: gays have a single focus - their sex life. I had an investigation a while ago in which the male sailor was hospitalized with an injury that came for a fist to the face. He lied to me about it but what caught my attention was that his records - in four geographical locations - were destroyed while I was interviewing him.
It turned out that he had called his fellow gays and they destroyed the records that I had seen only an hour before.
Gays form networks and they protect each other - above the loyalties to units and even services.

COVID = No

HIV = Yes

My math does not work here.

People with diseases that are a threat to other people in other countries are not deployable. Allowing HIV/AIDS carriers to spread a deadly disease was barred by treaty and by nearly every individual nation.

When the gender-benders and homosexuals gained control of the Globalist movement and reins of political power, they did not conduct themselves in a manner consistent with their mandates to maintain the safety and welfare of their citizens. They have committed an unpardonable sin and breech of diplomatic/legal protocals.

Trump is doing this on the grounds that these people have tainted blood and they carry a death sentence for anyone who they contaminate.

So a Judge made a medical decision that HIV positive people are able to be world wide deployable. Do doctors get to make legal rulings now?

Gays form networks and they protect each other - above the loyalties to units and even services.

And that conduct is reason for dismissal.

We cannot have protected classes of people for whom criticism is forbidden. Such groups invariably rise unimpeded within an organization into abusive controlling positions and destroy the original purpose of the organization.
