This is the heartwarming moment a mother dog hand-delivered her seriously ill puppy to vets for life-saving treatment.

CCTV footage shows the homeless dog carrying her dying puppy in her mouth through the rain and leaving it at the door of a veterinary clinic in the Adnan Kahveci neighbourhood of Beylikduzu, in Istanbul Province, Turkey.

A veterinary technician noticed the situation and quickly brought the puppy inside for treatment on January 13.

The pup was in a bad way, with a dangerously low heart rate, and was taken to intensive care immediately.

The mother dog stayed close by, at times watching over her puppy as vets worked on her on the treatment table.

Veterinarian Baturalp Oghan revealed that the mother dog had previously given birth nearby, but most of her puppies had died.

Animal lovers had brought one surviving puppy to the clinic earlier, unaware there was another.

The mother dog later found the last remaining puppy and brought it to the clinic for help.

I love stories like this. Dogs are truly man’s best friend. Glad she got some help, one smart dog for sure. Hoping for fast recoveries.

This shows what wonderful, decent, compassionate, smart animals dogs are. I am on my 7th and have never ceased to be amazed by that. Indeed, I’d have a hard time living without one.

Thinking she tracked where her other pup was taken to and just went there.

Or....could be a miracle and she was guided there. Or both.

Either way, really uplifting story! I LOVE dogs and happy endings.

Thank you for posting it!

Oh, so true. The worst was losing my wonderful Great Dane, Canute, who still lives within me.

How did she know it was a vet office?

She followed her nose. The newer scents on the fire hydrants on the way to and from the building smelled healthier than the older scents from the same dogs.

Thanks for sharing this. What a great story, but the video was kinda blurry for me, watching the Momma leaning her head on the exam table.

She’s probably been a patient there in the past. Just guessing.

“Dogs are truly man’s best friend......”

And maybe only friends we truly have.

Amen to that. Can’t get over the hideous flashbacks. Classic PTSD. Lifetime sentence.

Considering how muslims feel about dogs, I’m a bit surprised that this happened in Turkey.
