College football coach fired for refusing COVID vaccine loses lawsuit after Obama-appointed judge's ruling

Former Washington State head football coach Nick Rolovich lost his lawsuit against the university after he was fired for refusing to get the COVID-19 vaccine during the 2021 season.

U.S. District Judge Thomas Rice, who was appointed by President Barack Obama in June 2011, ruled Monday that Washington State could not accommodate Rolovich without undue hardship, including increased travel costs and hindered recruitment and fundraising efforts. The university also claimed damage to its reputation.

The university fired Rolovich, along with four assistant coaches, in October 2021 for refusing to comply with a mandate that required all state employees to be vaccinated. Rolovich filed his lawsuit soon after, claiming the university made an illegal termination in part because of "discriminatory and vindictive behavior" by athletic director Pat Chun.

Rolovich claimed that, as a Catholic, he was exempted from the state's vaccine mandate, but his exemption request had been denied.

However, Rice found no basis for Rolovich's objection to the vaccine on religious grounds.

"[Rolovich] frequently expressed secular concerns about the COVID-19 vaccine to friends, family members and coworkers," Rice wrote. "In the thousands of pages of discovery, Plaintiff does not invoke a religious objection to the vaccine. This alone is a basis for denying Plaintiff's claimed religious objection."

Finding was by a U.S. District Court Judge. I expect he'll appeal as damages by the Covid vaccine are much better documented now then they were in 2021. His decision and those of his assistant coaches not to take the shot may have saved him from future illnesses and maybe an early death.

Since covid injections also impact people in close proximity, I wonder what would happen if colleges fire people for having received the injections..

Online college only: If that happens in a widespread, long lasting way it would be a sad thing. I loved my family, but 6 also loved my college years out of state. Not just the school, but I learned much about different kinds of people, most I would never have met had I never left my hometown.

Using the term “judge” following “Obama-appointed” would constitute at least a mid-level Oxymoron. The judge is probably as law-incompetent as is Dorkbama.

Relationships will no longer matter. What sci-fi movie or tv show did that idea come from?

My brother (ran a chain of nursing homes) dutifully was #1 in line to get his mandated covid shots. With each one he was subsequently hospitalized for blood abnormalities. Insane white cell, red cell, and platelets. Each time the red cells became abnormally shapes and failed to carry oxygen. He spent two years getting transfusions twice a week, and died in March of 2024. He was under the care of a researcher from Moderna. As a matter of fact, so was the whole wing of the University of Pennsylvania Hospital, with all patients male, over 60, with the exact same symptoms, for six weeks. It wasn't any cancer. They none the less gave them all chemotherapy and bone marrow transplants that all failed to resolve the problem, even though the bone marrow transplants "took" and were successful. Six months later he was dead, as were the rest.

His long time physician kept sending in reports to the VARS system. They contacted him back and threatened his medical license unless he would stop reporting.

In your own best interest, stay as far away from any medical practices, hospitals, nursing homes, rehabilitation care facilities, and buy and prepare your foods from known source purveyors.

Euthanasia scientists are hard at work earning vast fortunes to satisfy the culling of the global herd projects.

So sorry what happened to your brother and others in his care. While saying no to the shots could have gotten you fired back then, at least you would have your life.

I had the one J&J shot so I could travel but resisted all others. I didn’t get covid with very mild symptoms until summer 2022 but have an independent doctor who prescribed both HCQ and Ivermectin. Too avoid problems with majors like Walgreens, he directed me to an independent pharmacy in a town 18 miles away.

Close friends also refused the shot including some in the medical profession who somehow stayed under the wire when their institutions were demanding shots as a condition of employment. Even today, there are ads by our Dem controlled NM DOH saying everyone should get their covid booster along with their seasonal flu shot. I’m getting neither and am still healthy at 82.

He had an idiot for an attorney. 1 word, 11 letters Mr. Rolovich:

"MALPRACTICE"

But I will state this:

If the qualifier for anything non-secular - i.e., MY PERSONAL BUSINESS - is that I discuss it publicly, then I have a baseball bat itching for some action.

At our age his interest was in the best operating conditions for the residents of his facilities. He knew it was vital for him to carry out his responsibilities, otherwise the residents would suffer. He had no idea of cause and effect until the third shot was coming. He trusted the systems of public health. That ended quickly after that.

He was the dollars and cents gatekeeper for those nursing homes. Everything from payroll to buying hips, negotiating costs, providing decent cuisine, regulatory compliance, down to clearing snow off the parking areas and ice removal. It was his purpose in his mind.

Don't ask me for any sympathies for anyone involved in Big Pharma, Big government, or Big Health Insurers. (If you catch my drift)

Their days of reckoning are coming.

federal corrupt [I'm using "corrupt" instead of "judge"] Thomas O. Rice also stooged for Obama over the abortion pill.

Rice also stooged for Inslee when there was a challenge to Inslee's emergency Covid powers.

The Colleges deserve becoming homeless villages.
“Get Woke, Get Broke!”
The first move is in sight. That is taxing the money held by Harvard and all others that have Billions of income that is not taxed.

All the reasons the judge gives has to do with money. But at least the coach doesn’t have the fear of suddenly dropping dead from he vax.
