Man stabbed in NYC subway station as congestion pricing kicks in, forcing more commuters into dangerous system

A man was stabbed in a Bronx train station early Sunday, mere hours after congestion pricing went into effect, forcing more New Yorkers into the increasingly violent subway system.

It was not immediately clear if the victim and suspect knew each other or what prompted the attack, police sources said.

The 38-year-old man was sliced in the arm inside the Third Avenue and 138th Street No. 6 express station in Mott Haven just before 4 a.m., police sources told The Post.

His attacker fled the station.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition, police said.

The incident comes amid days of disturbing violence on New York City subways, including the horrifying arson death of 57-year-old Debrina Kawam of Toms River, NJ, at the Stillwell Avenue-Coney Island station in Brooklyn. Kawam was allegedly set ablaze by illegal migrant Sebastian Zapeta-Calil, who is now being held on first-degree murder charges.

There were at least five attacks in the days after Kawam’s heartbreaking death, including the stabbing of an MTA staffer heading to work in The Bronx on Thursday at the Pelham Parkway station.

Four other straphangers were slashed on consecutive days in the past week, too: a 52-year-old man knifed in the arm at the Myrtle-Wyckoff L train station in Brooklyn; a 48-year-old man slashed in the neck at the West 50th Street and Eighth Avenue station in Manhattan and two others on New Year’s Day.

Why do you guys CARE so much about NYC?

It seems DOZENS post about the crimes and horrors.

Iwasn’t sure in my last post..

But now I am.

You guys LOVE THIS STUFF.

YOU LOVE IT!! :)

And that’s kinda sick and sad.

Especially when I see all of the demented redneck crimes on true crime channels..I had no idea what the south was like.

It seems like in some areas, graduating high school is like graduating Harvard! :)

And vehicles that some use for cross country trips are HOUSES for people there.

And WOW, the outside of marriage pregnancies, the METH addiction and the crimes that come with it are HUGE in numbers...not murders like the big, bad cities you guys FEAR.

But still pretty damn bad.

I’ll try my luck in NYC before some trailer park “community” :)

“Why do you guys CARE so much about NYC?”

Because NYC, like Detroit is an example of what happens after Democrat Party rule.

I don’t want the trailer park or NYC. There are places in between.

I care because NYC is the largest American city, and I care about Americans. I want the best for Americans everywhere.

I know it seems almost impossible to believe—but in the days when there were Republican mayors New York City was the crown jewel of American cities.

It can be again—if the Democrat Party is thrown out of power.

I understand you feeling but you should see ALL the Ex New York who have moved to AZ in the last 30 years.
They are happier and wealthier.
I’m originally from MN so I feel where you are to see your state being destroyed.
