OTTAWA (Reuters) -Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is increasingly likely to announce he intends to step down, though he has not made a final decision, a source familiar with Trudeau's thinking said on Sunday.

The source spoke to Reuters after the Globe and Mail reported that Trudeau was expected to announce as early as Monday that he would quit as leader of Canada's ruling Liberal Party after nine years in office.

I agree. The Left doesn’t give up power so easily.

Trump set this in motion by putting the squeeze on Trudeau over tariffs.

Maybe.

Don’t forget, when the left/globalists replace someone they usually do it with someone worse.

I didn’t think it was possible when cuomo *resigned*. Now now NY has hochul.

I never thought I’d see the day when I thought NY was better off under cuomo.

Here's the problem. He is likely to prorogue Parliament until a new Lieberal leader is elected. He did not name a 'Deputy Prime Minister', when Freakland resigned, so he will likely remain as 'interim (Dear) leader' until the Lieberals elect a new (Dear) Leader. So, it may be as late as April or May, when Parliament resumes and a non-confidence vote can occur.

Without the (limited) checks and balances of Parliament, God knows what evil he will bring upon Canaduh, by fiat.

Polievre can argue before the Governor General, that proroguing Parliament, just to hold a leadership convention is un-Parliamentary, but, since the GGis a political appointee, chances are, this won't succeed, so we are stuck with Castreau as Crime Minister,in a prorogued Parliament, until possibly May and no election until July, possibly.

His 'resignation' is not what it appears to be.

While he can do limited damage with Orders-in-Council, those can and will be revoked by the Tories once they are in office.

With a Leadership election, Trudeau becomes a lame duck and the Leadership candidates are going to run far away from him, because he is so toxic with the electorate. All focus is going to be on the Leadership election.

However this will not fix the fundamental problems with the Liberal Government and they are still going to lose the next election. However, they might avoid total catastrophe.

No.

The finance minister told the Liberals and NDP that she would not be handing out money treats to bolster their popularity.

They insisted
She resigned

Absolutely nothing to do with Trump

I think that Trump’s pressure made Trudeau vulnerable by signaling that the government will soon be put to a severe test. I find it hard to imagine that, without that vulnerability, Trudeau’s finance minister would act like a bartender who suddenly renounces alcohol as evil by having an attack of conscience about handing out public cash to bolster her government’s political standing. After all, looting the Treasury for the sake of friends is a large part of what the Liberals are about.
