Wonder if they will be able to hold the electoral count?

Protests are/were planned, but tomorrow could be very interesting.

Liberal media could be saying 'hell froze over' for the count. LOL. I could see a lot of interpretations of the winter storm event on both sides.

The bureaucrats should get used to it. Their new offices may be in our great state of Greenland.

US Capitol Struck by Lightning on NYE Seen as God’s ‘Message’ by MAGA

https://www.newsweek.com/us-capitol-struck-lightning-nye-seen-gods-message-maga-2008232

Trump supporters on social media speculated over whether a divine message was being sent after lightning strikes reportedly hit the U.S. Capitol Building and Washington Monument in Washington D.C., and the One World Trade Center and Empire State Building in New York City, on New Year’s Eve.

Christian Ziegler, a Trump supporter and former Republican National Convention delegate, shared the Capitol Hill lightning footage adding: “U.S. Capitol Building struck by lightning as we close out 2024 and head into 2025. God is sending us a message.”

Utah Senator Mike Lee shared footage of the Capitol lightning strike, commenting: “Feels like an omen. What’s it telling us?”

A snowstorm in DC is a hundred times worse than a snowstorm—in say, Montpelier, VT.

In VT they have lots of plows that stay on top of the snow and all streets are in good shape within a few hours of the end of the storm.

In DC they have nowhere near enough plows—they are lucky to keep the main arteries passable. The residential streets are narrow and turn into quagmires for days if the storm is followed by a cold snap (as is forecasted for this storm).

Of course they will. They have plows and salt available...

Except for a few "stuck on stupid" people, I would imagine any protests will be slimmed down. Not everyone is happy about Trump winning.

It’s darn cold here in PA but at least that storm will only graze us.
As for DC or any metropolis, it seems like nowadays the streets are safer if they’re deep in snow and it’s too cold for varmints to venture forth.
Here in rural PA, one of the more common hazards of winter is when a neighbor or a homeless person accidentally burns down a house or two, usually with a space heater or a stove. We don’t mind the snow near as much as the frequent smoke signals of stupidity.

I seem to recall other big storms shutting DC down because they are not able to deal with the snow very well.

That said, they should send city workers to Northeast Ohio, they might learn a thing or two.

They are usually plow and salt short...but I’m sure they’ve had enough time to get them in place and get these people in place for the certification and declaration.

We will see—DC government is well known for its incompetence and stupidity.

I would be stunned if they were well prepared this time.

The good news is that in Northern Virginia, they have plenty of the best snow plows money can buy.

The bad news is that they are operated by Northern Virginians!

I’ve been in DC doing business during a winter “storm” of three inches of snow. Although the roads were cleared in eight hours, nobody came to work for a week. The malls, shopping outlets, restaurants, were packed with patrons however.....

Yup. I’ve lived in the vicinity a number of times over the course of my life. I recall living in McLean VA and my folks driving the 59 olds 88 into d.c. No snow tires or chains. Like just about everyone else. We survived. 😊👍

An analogical thought...

If Trump is Moses, Deep State is Pharaoh, DC is Egypt...

Note to Deep State: Given the timing, God does not appear to be amused.

It has been years since DC has had a big snow. They probably figured snow wasn’t going to happen again because of global warming. Equipment probably hasn’t been maintained and not ready to go.
