A snowstorm in DC is a hundred times worse than a snowstorm—in say, Montpelier, VT.
In VT they have lots of plows that stay on top of the snow and all streets are in good shape within a few hours of the end of the storm.
In DC they have nowhere near enough plows—they are lucky to keep the main arteries passable. The residential streets are narrow and turn into quagmires for days if the storm is followed by a cold snap (as is forecasted for this storm).
They are usually plow and salt short...but I’m sure they’ve had enough time to get them in place and get these people in place for the certification and declaration.
The good news is that in Northern Virginia, they have plenty of the best snow plows money can buy.
The bad news is that they are operated by Northern Virginians!
Yup. I’ve lived in the vicinity a number of times over the course of my life. I recall living in McLean VA and my folks driving the 59 olds 88 into d.c. No snow tires or chains. Like just about everyone else. We survived. 😊👍
Some people like to pretend they’re better than everyone else and blow off anything that doesn’t affect them personally.
And they make fools of themselves by pretending that an inch of light show is the same thing as a foot of frozen slop.
I’ll bet people in Noah’s day blew off the rain Noah was warning them about , too.
‘m in central Maryland. They’ve been using that worn out excuse of not having enough plows for decades.
Drive up I-95 in a few hours and you’ll see multiple plows staged at ever turnaround.
Cities in general are tough because there’s nowhere to move the snow.
Yes, and why is that— because Congress controls the Military District of Columbia— the outgoing idiot dems in place. But the military has the ability to plow the major roads needed— and the Speaker can command that, in fact.
As for the morons that run metro DC— not much to count on there unless one be lookin’ for some other kind of powder.
Remember that mayor— the whole place is corrupt- but uh, can be motivated with the right threats.
