more often than not, an unwanted sequel comes out, and it is rarely as good as the original. Although, in a few are better than the original (Wrath of Khan, Terminator 2). Can't think of a prequel better than the original currently.
In any case, which movies would you like to see with a prequel or a sequel?
**1971’s ‘Duel’ with Dennis Weaver.
I always wanted to know why that truck driver terrorized Dennis on the highway trying to kill him.**
Stupid movie.
I drive part-time for a farmer that has 9 semi tractors. One is turning about 750hp, one is at about 700, two are at about 650. If pulling a loaded tank trailer, your average car could run away and hide from such a truck.
I’d like to see one on Gone With The WInd.
But although there were Godzilla Versus Kong types there apparently wasn’t a Charlie Chan Meets Godzilla. Or Kong.
Prequels to “Legends of the Fall” and “Blade Runner” come to mind.
I think there is a prequel or some sort of spin-off story line planned for that franchise. Also, "Nobody" is supposedly a film that fits somewhere into the John Wick "world".
“you might be interested” ping
SALT set up nicely for a sequel...but where would they go with it ?
It appeared to be in the era when movies (and TV) were copying Jason Bourne stuff.
“I’d also like sequels to both.”
Only need one as “Pale Rider’ was a “Shane” ripoff.
The Incredibles #3. Mr Incredible and Elastic Girl become Grandparents. Their daughter has a baby. The fast son is married but no kid yet . Jack-Jack in addition to all his powers is also a Genius . He is enrolled in a super secret high tech school. They all work together to fight off an alien invasion.
That’s all they can do. There are no screenwriters worthy of the name so all they can do is tag onto something. Nothing original. Nothing new. I lost a lot of regard for Spielberg when he failed to credit the story behind “Always”. “Always” was plagarized alnost scene for scene from “A Guy Named Joe”.
Someone else who understands cinema.
The prequel is considered an equally great movie.
The sequel has Karloff, Lugosi as Ygor , Rathbone, and Lionel Atwill as the one armed police inspector ( made famous again in Young Frankenstein as was Ygor)
But like you, I think the Bride of Frankenstein was the pinnacle of cinema in the series.
Although not as great as the original, I enjoyed Rocky II. Also liked Back To The Future III.
“How about Galaxy Quest?”
Hilarious, and I have never seen an episode of Star Trek
Terrifying!
I liked that one so much that I purchased it. It would be interesting to see more of their lives as a family. The father-daughter relationship was nicely focused on.
Indeed!
The original Doctor Dolittle. They were supposed to make one, but it didn’t happen.
Eddie Torrez, the extra testicle?
I would have loved to see that come about. Such an underrated film. Hate what DeNiro became.
Dolores Claiborne wound up in Maine because...well...Stephen King.
