what movie could have a great prequel? What movies could have a great sequel?

Posted on 12/31/2024 6:34:08 PM PST by MNDude

more often than not, an unwanted sequel comes out, and it is rarely as good as the original. Although, in a few are better than the original (Wrath of Khan, Terminator 2). Can't think of a prequel better than the original currently.

In any case, which movies would you like to see with a prequel or a sequel?

I absolutely love GalaxyQuest! I own that one...:)

Tim Allen is unbelievably good in that role!

Just love that movie!

The first movie was Alien. The second movie was Aliens.

I think you’re right. A great education at all levels is important for all aspects of movie-making.

Back in those days, trucks had to carry license plates from various states....I’m not sure what triggered a required registration in a particular state...I’m guessing a certain number of miles.

It would have been dangerous to do what Spielberg suggested.

With a routine traffic stop, he’d be found out.

I think Godzilla is the most by one studio.

Charlie Chan has Godzilla beaten overall...not sure if that one is the most.

Another one I thought about:

“It’s a Fast, Fast, Fast, Fast, Fast & Furious World.”

The Fast and Furious Gang chase after a treasure in comedy.

We're living it. Do we get rid of the idiots, or tolerate them, as "our colleagues across the aisle?"

I have the conviction that, if there was a REAL investigation of the last 3 elections, the only democrats that were not in jail for fraud would be in foreign countries, fighting extradition.

Silverado.

I really had my hopes up at the last scene when Costner shouts: “We’ll be back!”

And Casablanca.

It would have been fun to see what Rick and Louie got up to after Ilsa and Victor took off

“Crown for Christmas”, one of Hallmark’s Christmas movies, just begged for a sequel. It’s probably too late to make one though - it’s like 10 years since it was made.

Master and Commander. It’s a borderline tragedy that no prequel or sequel was made.

Lonesome Dove

A quality prequel, not that crap.

Bridge on the River Kwai

So the audience knows how those poor guys got there.

Wonderful prequel to the book, “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” (Chronicles of Narnia I) is “The Magician’s Nephew” (book 5). I’d love to see a great movie adaptation of Book 5, after someone finally makes a great adaptation of Book 1. Some collections now put The Magician’s Nephew first, but so much of the fun is seeing how everything unfolds into The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.

I think the first Indiana Jones movie is the best, but people forget that the second and third were prequels.

There was a bizarre theory that The Lord of the Rings was a prequel to Snow White, and it’s not completely inaccurate: The Lord of the Rings comes to us from the same mythology that Snow White comes from. Plus, there are some accidental things that make the sequel notion work: like the fact that the dwarves are mining finished gemstones from behind a great door. They’re not mining a natural query; they’re mining the Halls of Mordor!

And of course, there’s the theory that all of the Disney Pixar movies happen in the same timeline, making Toy Story a prequel, for instance, to Wall-E.
