Reps. Thomas Massie and Marjorie Taylor Greene called on Congress Thursday to release the names of current and former members on a secret list of lawmakers that have used taxpayer money to settle sexual harassment claims.
“Congress has secretly paid out more than $17 million of your money to quietly settle charges of harassment (sexual and other forms) in Congressional offices,” Massie (R-Ky.) wrote on X.
“Don’t you think we should release the names of the Representatives? I do,” he added.
Massie’s suggestion was quickly endorsed by Greene (R-Ga.).
“Yes. I want to release the congressional sexual slush fund list,” the congresswoman wrote on X.
“Taxpayers should have never had to pay for that. Along with all the other garbage they should not have to pay for,” she argued.
Since 1997, the Office of Congressional Workplace Rights has paid out more than $17 million in public money to settle nearly 300 cases of workplace disputes at the US Capitol – including claims related to sexual harassment, discrimination, retaliation and pay disputes.
The obscure office does not release the identities of those have reached settlements and does not break down how much of the money disbursed over the last 27 years is specifically related to sexual harassment claims.
The office told Politico in 2017 that “a large portion of cases” it resolves involve workers not employed in the House or Senate, such as Library of Congress, Capitol Police and Architect of the Capitol employees.

YES!
“It is not the nature of the evidence; it is the seriousness of the charge.”
How do we know it’s only $17 million?
This has been talked about here on FR since I came here 20 years ago
That may be the annual budget.
How do we know it’s only $17 million?
That’s just what they’ll admit to........for public consumption.
Probably one heck of a lot more.
It is utterly insane we have a ‘Congressional Slush Fund’.
It is equally insane that Trump was prosecuted for an accounting error committed by an underling for same.
It is equally insane that Congress has not been equally prosecuted for the very existence of this ‘fund’.
I really hate living in insane times.
This is freepin’ crazy all around.
It is not often I agree with MTG, but when it comes to sexual misconduct by elected representatives and other emplyees who interface with the public or hold jobs of trust, such misbehavior should not be covered up.
Per the article:
““Someone suggested the following plan to me,” Gaetz wrote on X last week. “1. Show up 1/3/2025 to congress 2. Participate in Speaker election (I was elected to the 119th Congress, after all…) 3. Take the oath 4. File a privileged motion to expose every ‘me too’ settlement paid using public funds (even of former members) 5. Resign and start my @OANN program at 9pm EST on January 6, 2025.””
YES! The release of this list was promised several years ago — by candidate Trump, IIRC. It never happened. WE paid for their indiscretions; WE deserve to know how our money is being spent.
I imagine Thirty Pence’s name is on that list.
Having a taxpayer funded slush fun should not exist period but that’s what lawmakers do.
“It is utterly insane we have a ‘Congressional Slush Fund’.”
My guess is the overwhelming majority of the cases involve faggotry.
Congress has control over it, not POTUS.
I didn’t say he did have control; I said that he promised.
That might’ve involved him negotiating with Congress, or doing whatever else he needed to do.
Where is Vivek and Elon on this? This fund needs to be added to the D.O.G.E. list and eliminated from to budget, but only after all names are released.
Can you imagine the panic if Trump announced he is in possession of the list? Wonder if Linda Graham and a few others would get real loyal and stop playing the two faced game? :)
Epic!! Master trolling right there.
I imagine many Congresscritters engage(d) in illicit sex whether througj ego gratification, getting wild awayvfrom the folks back home, honey traps, or even “just” too much alcohol at the parties introducing the new ones to the system.
And every one subject to blackmailin pressure when voting ,proposing,or commenting on bills.
The government needs a serious housecleaning.
