We saw the new movie release ….. A Complete Unknown. This is a movie about Bob Dylan from his starts in 1961 to 1965.
This was FANTASTIC. There are not enough superlatives to describe how well this movie was done, and how much I enjoyed it. Yes, I am a big fan of his music. This movie is a must own when it is available.
There should be an academy award or two from this movie.
Anyone else here see it today?
Dylan & Joan Baez, 1963:
PIF: "Does it mention he was/is addicted to heroin?"
In 1984 Dylan himself refuted his 1966 claim that he had a heroin habit when he first moved to NYC in 1961, then age 19.
At age 83, Dylan is still performing, his most recent US performance was April 24, 2024 in Austin, Texas, and that "Rough and Rowdy Ways Tour" ended on November 14, 2024, at Royal Albert Hall in London.

My wife is not a fan either. If not married to me she would have never heard those songs. (We’ve been married a long time). She liked this movie a lot!
However, landing on a PBS interview with him a number of years ago I was surprised to find that he seemed like a normal guy I could have a beer with.
I saw it on the 24th. Not sure why, but a local theater had 3 showings the day before the official opening. And I agree, it was amazing. I may go see it again.
And this is my first time hearing about the LZ film. Thank you!
There's a fun world outside of that political bubble you live in. You should get out and experience it........
Thanks.
My best friend some years ago, actually decades ago, knew and played with him. He said they regularly shot up heroin together. Of course he’s going to deny it - it would be bad for publicity.
Still have that LP.
Incredible voice.
Glad to hear the recommendation.
We rarely go out to movies, they’ve gotten so expensive but I love the experience - dark theater, well-worn seats, sticky floors, smell of popcorn, huge screen - love it all.
So many come out so quickly on streaming services these days that I may just wait for that.
How was it?
Fantastic
No thanks. I have zero desire to reward those who would destroy me and those I love.
Maybe, but it's hard to imagine a heroin addict living to age 83, and still in good enough physical condition to do nearly 100 performances in 2024 -- in 33 US states, 4 Canadian provinces, plus six European countries.
So, I don't know what fuels all that energy but doubt if it's heroin.
This report was many decades ago back in the 70s - BD likely kicked the habit at some point since then
