In 1984 Dylan himself refuted his 1966 claim that he had a heroin habit when he first moved to NYC in 1961, then age 19.

"I never got hooked on any drug.
Not like you'd say, uh, 'Eric Clapton: his drug period.'"

Bob Dylan (Robert Zimmerman) was born Jewish and bar mitsvahed at age 13.
In 1970 he converted to Christianity and released several gospel albums, but has since become highly ambiguous in his beliefs, at least publicly.

At age 83, Dylan is still performing, his most recent US performance was April 24, 2024 in Austin, Texas, and that "Rough and Rowdy Ways Tour" ended on November 14, 2024, at Royal Albert Hall in London.

My best friend some years ago, actually decades ago, knew and played with him. He said they regularly shot up heroin together. Of course he’s going to deny it - it would be bad for publicity.
