We all know the old saying "actions speak louder than words." A Madison man is living by that message by taking action to destroy firearms. It's all in an effort to prevent gun violence.
Madison's Midvale Community Lutheran Church was the site of Jeff Wild's symbolic action Monday. Wild along with several others, brought a pair of chop saws to the church's entrance to cut up six handguns, one rifle and one shotgun.
The action comes just a week after a student at Abundant Life Christian School brought two guns inside, killing a teacher and a fellow student. Wild says the guns he worked to destroy Monday were surrendered to him Friday following the shooting.
"We need to move forward in actually taking action to reduce gun violence in our communities," said Wild.
He continued, "I believe that with the work of faith communities, and with local leadership and student groups in schools that we can bring about a movement that will reduce firearm violence in our community."
Wild has done similar events like Monday's before. While he says this is not his first time doing so, the destruction is just his way to get guns out of the hands of people looking to do harm to others or their-selves.
Wild has also worked to blacksmith many of the destroyed guns into garden tools. He says doing so brings him a sense of satisfaction seeing the transformation from firearm to hand tool.

Wisconsin, regarding many things that are quite restricted elsewhere, is a relatively free “Well, what did your mom say?” state.
With many things there isnt much that doesnt boil down to “check the federal law, and we added this one little thing”.
My guess is that these firearms were inherited or abandoned by whomever bought them. Those who feel they can’t possess a firearm safely, because of illness, mental problems, advanced age, drug/drink addiction, lack of skills, personal weakness, out-of-control people in the home, likelihood of theft, or whatever, are probably right. I’m pleased for them to disarm themselves. Maybe it reduces anxiety due to feelings of incompetence.

I was trying to explain that to someone around here just the other day. Its not even the behavior of the person that winds up executing the crime that we should be focused on.
Yet ANOTHER? How the hell does the same person with the same mental problem that blames it on the same and reacts in the same way get created in the first place? People dont come from a toy factory where millions of replicas are produced. Who is planting this type of mind virus and how is it being encouraged to replicate?
I think a lot of us know. The people that need to be dragged out and stomped have special titles appended to their names.

Those who beat their swords into plowshares will plow for those who don’t.
All liberals should take this approach.

NO RESPECT FOR AUTHORITY AND THE LAW ENGENDERS THIS AMORAL BEHAVIOR BY JUVVENILE OFFENDERS!
ALL kids need to learn the Ten Commandments! And, the Ten Commandments need to be allowed in and taught in our K-12 schools!
That’s right.
