After The McCoys hit with Sloopy, Rick Zehringer left the group, went to LA, changed his last name to Derringer and quickly became a hot session player...and that led him to Fagen/Becker and Edgar Winter.
Here in Dayton, we had a teen club (The Caverns) in the lower level of a strip shopping center. It was a large open space and the stage was 12” high so the musicians were ‘right there”.
Saw The Hollies w/Graham Nash, Simon&Garfunkel (Parsley, Sage tour) and so many more.
The warm-up group for S&G was the McCoys who stayed on stage to be their backing band.
