LG's new TV creates a nifty illusion of on-screen content floating in mid-air
After stealing the show at CES 2024 in January, LG's totally transparent TV is finally available to buy. The 77-inch Signature OLED T can be yours for an eye-watering US$60,000.
With that kind of scratch, you could buy three top-of-the-line 85-inch Samsung 'The Terrace' Full Sun Neo QLED 4K outdoor TVs designed to be used in direct sunlight – or a 2025 BMW 5-series car.
Anyway, you're here about the Signature OLED T. We're talking about a 4K 120 Hz OLED TV you can literally see through when it's displaying a picture on screen – creating the illusion of content floating in mid-air, and merging with its surroundings.

60k for a tv...hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah, suckers!!!
It will eventually be $4000 and even $699.
Why do I want to see through my TV?
For the people that are currently buying $75,000 pickup trucks
So you can see the dust bunnies.............
Exactly.....another digital device feature no one will want.
Just because they can doesn’t mean they should.
And at that point having an opaque backing, which is normally required, will be an up-charge. This see-through capability is a bug, not a feature.
Really? Another copy and paste without reading before you hit “Post”?
Heavy sigh.
Well that’s all fine and well if you like watching moon programming against a glass wall with views of the Pacific, however it doesn’t do much for SpongeBob in front of a cat tree.
Cool. Every window can be a tv. It was getting a little cluttered to cram more than three or four in a standard room.
Using the example image, when it's off it doesn't block your view.
And I thought $5K for an LG G4 85” OLED was steep....
Double that.
Of all the decades I have had a TV, I can’t say I ever really cared about seeing the mess of cables and dust behind it.
It's for people who have more money than brains.
Holograms are here. Star Wars is main stream.
WAIT UNTIL THEY GET THE POWER BILL.
1. It’ll be on sale on the Costco floor in 2030 for $495.
2. What a great heads-up display that will make in automobiles. While the HUD is not displaying speed and warning you about nearby dangers, it can show you movies while on autopilot.
