Why is a child at an NBA event in the first place?
Not a wholesome environment for young skulls full of mush.
It is not that this was something with good intentions that turned out wrong, I think everybody understands those but that this had absolutely no way of ever going right.
And how many employees were fired for being idiots? It ought to be several.
The kid wasn’t “color coded”
Imagine pulling that crap on a black kid.
He has it taken away and he had to watch a Hornets game? That’s cruel.
I don’t see how this is funny.
And just who in management thought this was a good idea at the time?................
Okay. If, in the original skit, the kid wasn’t supposed to take home a PS5…
…who was?

Part of me can actually understand why they wouldn’t let a kid walk off the court that night with a PS5. Because, these days, I wouldn’t be surprised if we also read about a grinch taking it from the kid as they walked out to the parking lot.
In that case present the gift, let the cheerleader take it away after the ceremony (everyone knowing it will be returned), have a pair of representatives from the team’s office arrange to deliver the goodies at the fans’ home afterwards.
They can’t afford the price of a seat to make a kid happy? WITAF?
I wonder which adult responsible took the PS5 home that night?
Cruel.
If the Hornets were looking for publicity, then they definitely found a way to get it.
I can’t believe someone on their staff thought this would be a good idea and taking the game away from the child, after publicly giving it to him, would go unnoticed. The person should be fired for bad judgment alone.
Stop the skits
Teasing a kid at Christmas time with a bogus gift of a PS5 - not very nice. Whoever came up with that idea is an idiot.
