Well, it IS a “little” drummer boy, maybe he can’t pound loudly yet, or bypass the dreaded metronome. Still I’d like to hear what a professional drummer would do with that song. I like most instrumentals in minor keys, like the Holly and the Ivy and Carol of the Bells. But can’t stand any of the lyrics. Greensleeves is especially lovely but it’s original lyrics are about a guy being cast off by a prostitute so about as far from a Christian ballad as one can get. It’s newer What Child is This lyrics can’t and shouldn’t compete and need their own melody.

Was written by two Jewish men (Rogers and Hammerstein) as a moral boosting song for troops in WW2 hoping to be home by Christmas 1944.

Actually, any Christmas songs with "Rock" in the title is horrible because it is never rock music.
Favorite is "Silent Night" - Battle of the Bulge story makes it even better.
