I closed my store in San Francisco

Yes, I know, Tony Bennett was singing about leaving his heart in San Francisco, but I couldn't help myself. Another merchant is announcing that they are closing their store in the city by the bay. Check this one out:

The Safeway supermarket chain has announced that it will close down one of its key locations in San Francisco in February due to concerns that customers and employees were at risk from rampant theft and threats to their safety.

The closure, which had been put off for 11 months, will affect the Safeway store on Webster Street in the Fillmore section of San Francisco, which had been operating for the last 40 years.

The company said that the store will close for good on Feb. 7, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

Last month, shocking images surfaced showing a California man assaulting a female employee at a different Safeway location in San Francisco.

Bye bye city by the bay, as they call it. Another organization has joined the ranks of rational people who can no longer support the irrational situation in the Bay Area.

What a shock. Companies can no longer do business when theft is rampant and the thieves never get arrested. In some cases, the judge puts them back out on the street in the name of social justice.

They have gotten what they voted for, and hard.

San Franciscans have character problems which have manifested all around them.

This is not a mistake.

This is supposed to happen.

The same urban cycle has been going on for almost a century, maybe more.

I have a frat bro who lives there. He loves it but admits he doesn’t venture far from the safe areas.

Take your pick.

A. San Francisco will crack down on criminals. People will start to feel safe again.
B. San Francisco will make it difficult - or even illegal - to close a store.

Before choosing, consider the article below.

The “progressive left” has taken America back to the days of savages and barbarians. Joe Pedo is about to let 1500 more of them out of prison. It’s like they always say, if you want to know what the far left commie RATS are up to, listen to what THEY ACCUSE the right of doing.

What is the plan? Self destruct of great cities for what reason? King of a waste land? Drive city down so far to buy cheap and start again? WTF, what are their leaders doing? What is the end game?

unburdened while you watch….

> What is the end game? <

Two possibilities.

It could be that these “progressives” are just stupid. They do not consider consequences in the least. So there is no end game. Just do what feels good at the moment. Let the poor criminal off with just a slap on the wrist? Well, sure.

Or perhaps they are not stupid. Drive private businesses out from the cities. Then replace them with government stores. Just like in the old plantation days. Massa will provide everything you need. And that includes instructions on who to vote for.

I’m actually not sure which possibility is correct.

Will this affect the all-night Wicker District? Frank Drebin used to investigate crimes there all the time. Or was that Los Angeles?

I closed my business in SF Bay area, primarily Marin County, in 2009——the economic crash made the decision for me, though I would have eventually had to move out anyways with the incredible rise in prices and economic and social upheaval.

Even 15 years ago it was overburdening, I cannot imagine how people held out for so long. I lived 12 miles from SF, in San Rafael and just stopped going into SF-—even back then it was “unsafe” and not pleasant.
The place was a zoo in 2009 and now is a full blown sewer or even worse....such a shame, used to be such a fun, wonderful City, especially way back in the 50’s—early 60’s, or so I have been told by the natives who lived there once upon a time.🙁

San Francisco is similar to living IN a residential mental health facility.

San Francisco was still a wonderful place in the 90s when Willie Brown took over still pretty cool, when Gavin Newsome took the mayors job the progressive platform went into overdrive on steroids. It will never change now.

“Social justice” = anarcho tyranny.

Anarcho tyranny is when average law abiding citizens are taxed and regulated to death and punished for even the most minor infractions while criminals are allowed to roam free terrorizing the public.

San Francisco is one catastrophic earthquake away from a full recovery.

and...... 60 days before closing, they legally must announce closure so employees can steal groceries and otherwise sabotage everything.

Safeway should have closed the store and paid wages a week at a time until February 7
