The new lot are less organized than Iran, and have less in the way of financial resources, as they have to beg for money from the Saudis and the gulf.

Did you watch the video to the end? They don't look "less organized" to me, nor do they look like they're hurting for money, food, ammo, or anything else. In fact, they appear to be about as well organzied as one could expect, a battlefield being what it is.

That is impossible, because I’ve been confidently informed that it’s THA JOOOS who will be slaughtering Christians in Syria:

“Oh well…I guess Israel will just have to take over some more territory from them, kill more Christians and get one step closer to “Greater Israel”.

When are people going to wake up and understand what is going on here?

Muslims, like Democrats, have an amazing way of coming together to defeat their enemies. Even if their opinions differ greatly.

If you’re a Christian, congratulations, now you’re a refugee, if you’re lucky.

Israel has bombed Syrian arms depots and occupied a slice of the Golan Heights formerly occupied by Syrian troops. As those moves suggest, Israel now has much greater freedom of action in Syria due to the lack of a coherent Syrian state.

That there is more latitude doesn't mean the situation is safer. Those weapons are easily resupplied, as we've seen.

Hopefully Trump can reestablish the chokehold on Iran, but with radical Sunnis now in charge of Syria, that may not matter so much.

There is no point to regretting the fall of Assad. In the long run, thuggish, autocratic regimes simply do not survive. Israel has the ability to deal with the aftermath.

I'm not. Nor am I fool enough to deem it a good thing either.

As much as a stable and minimally dangerous Syria might be preferred, it was not on offer for the long term. The sounder approach is to figure out how to deal with the consequences of the inevitable fall of the Assad regime.

I think the 2 main reasons we let Turkey into NATO are
1. We could put Jupiter ICBMs close the the Soviet southern border
2. Control the Dardanelles and block the Black Sea Fleet from the Mediterranean.
