NEW YORK CITY โ Judge Maxwell Wiley has ordered the jury in Daniel Penny's trial to go back and keep on deliberating until they come back with a different verdict.
After four days of deliberation, the jury announced that Penny could not be found guilty of manslaughter. Judge Wiley asked if maybe the jury could just pretend that never happened, and instructed them to think of some new charge go deliberate about until they changed their minds.
"Ugh, you guys are making this so hard," sighed Wiley, holding his head in his hands. "Can we all just go around and each of you say what charge you would find him guilty of? Is that against the law? Aw, fine. Well, how about we just all make-believe that he was never charged with manslaughter and the last few weeks were all a dream. Deal? Now, you all go back there and talk about some new charge and hey -- try come back with the right verdict this time, okay?"
According to sources in the courtroom, Penny's defense attorneys argued that such a move was obviously illegal and was a blatant move by the judge to pressure the jury. "Your honor, with all due respect, I don't think we are allowed to ask the jury to play make-believe," argued attorney Thomas Kenniff. "Your honor, would you please put down the giant 'GUILTY' posterboard?"
At publishing time, Judge Wiley had asked the prosecution to go sit in with the jury while they deliberate to make sure they got it right this time.

I see The Bee is back to doing straight news again....
I remember back when the BEE used to do parody. If only MSNBC and CNN would follow their path.
F NYC.
Wonder if they were admonished to remember this was a w/b incident. ๐ค๐๐. No charges should been brought!
You got me Bee!
Good old New York courts, again
I assume the jury is roughly similar.
It could be just a couple white jurors refusing to vote Guilty.
Probably true..
The Leftist Democrat Beyotch prosecutor wants a guilty verdict on something, anything, because she spent thousands of NY taxpayer dollars on his on Daniel Penny's persecution.

You can smell the BO through the photo
I heard this sorry ass jury has two shyster lawyers on it. They are never going to come to the same conclusion.
Um, how is this satire? Reads pretty much like the reality of what has happened.
PS Well done as always.
SexSinTheCity ain’t waht it used to be!
Like the judges did with Trump
Too true to be funny.
If I were on that jury there’s no way any smarmy ass, NY city liberals could ever change my mind... It would be locked for good. I can’t even stand the casts of friends or Seinfeld because of NY city.
Knowing NY judges though...I’d be a worried they’d figure out a way to go after me with some jury misconduct or something like that.
It would be nice if the jury would decide to come back with a “Not Guilty” verdict, just to throw dirt in the judge’s and prosecutor’s faces.
Hot dog, THE JURY DID IT!!!!!
On the 2d charge after the 1st was withdrawn
