Two national golf associations announced new gender eligibility policies Wednesday that bar transgender women who have gone through male puberty from participating in elite women’s competitions.
The LPGA said in a statement outlining its new policy that it had consulted “top experts in the fields of medicine, science, sport physiology and golf performance” and had been advised that “a Player’s exposure to male puberty provides physical advantages that are beneficial to golf performance compared to Players who have not had such exposure.”
TheUSGA outlined the same puberty and testosterone requirements as the LPGA in its new gender eligibility rules. It also notes that the updated guidelines were driven by a desire to ensure “competitive fairness” in its elite competitions. The new policy will apply to eight USGA women’s championship events, including the U.S. Women’s Open and the U.S. Girls’ Junior competition
The updated policies, which take effect in January, will prevent Scotland’s Hailey Davidson, a transgender woman who nearly made it to this year’s U.S. Women’s Open, from taking part in the highest-profile women’s golf events.
“Can’t say I didn’t see this coming,” Davidson said in an Instagram story Wednesday. “Banned from the Epson and the LPGA. All the silence and people wanting to stay ‘neutral’ thanks for absolutely nothing. This happened because of all your silence.”
In order to compete in elite competitions — such as the LGPA Tour, Epson Tour and the Ladies European Tour — a trans woman must establish that she has not experienced male puberty and that she has met specified testosterone requirements. Trans women who do not meet these requirements are still able to compete in “non-elite events and activities,” according to the association.

What total crap. It should be those born male.

Wow, I wonder how much they spent to figure that out?
hole in one...
They feel the need to consult and do studies of the subject.
They can’t do the pull down the pants test, and liberals are outraged if you go by the so called sex assigned at birth.
But this may placate activists, if they say they did all these studies and consulted the highest authorities.
Well played sir!
YES. Why make any stipulations, how about no transgender, period.
So, cutting through the Newspeak, this basically bars congenital (!) males from playing in the LPGA. Right?
Chase Strangio just cr@pped her male briefs.

><
I’m an old guy and can’t cut through the Newspeak very well but I’d say you’re right.
So it is OK for mutant males to play women’s golf so long as their parents mutilated them when they were still kids?
The LPGA and USGA just hit their tee shot OB.
par for the course...
This is a cop-out.
You have Men, you have Women and you have Freaks. The Freaks are neither Men nor Women. Some are natural, most are artificial. They should compete as neither Men nor Women.
Puberty is a Punt, and it puts even more pressure on the sexually developing.
The “Ladies” get an “F”.
It would’ve been hilarious to see John Daly wear a dress and dominate LPGA.
“hole in one”,yes. the right hole? to be determined by those who demand one hole is the same as any other. if one drives off the first hole but hits the second hole does it count?
Anyone suspected, or known to be a transgender should be subjected to testing & if guilty they should be banned in sports.
Hailey is just a man pretending to be female.
I agree.
Exactly.
Professional golf certification of golf clubs seems to be more important than gender.
Glad to see they finally got this right.
