Elon Musk Announces Tesla's NEW Aluminum-ion Super Battery with 15-min Charging
Elon Musk’s latest announcement could change everything about electric vehicles. Tesla is rolling out an all-new aluminum-ion battery that promises to be a game-changer, boasting rapid 15-minute charging times. The technology has been years in the making, but it could lead to a future where Elon Musk is quite literally, on top of the world. Imagine charging your electric car in just 15 minutes—Elon Musk's latest breakthrough could make it a reality and revolutionize the future of transportation as we know it. Curious to know how this innovation could reshape the EV landscape? Let’s dive into the details.
Maybe retirees make a special trip to the gas station and back home but most people fill up on the way or way back to or from doing something like work or the grocery store.
Every time I see that ‘Game-Changer’ phrase I think that there is a politician getting ready to take even more of my money and put it in someone else’s bank account.
“Imagine me filling up my gas tank in 3.”
So you saved 12 minutes and lost $25 ...
No, and HUGE subsidies.
I dont know economics well enough to know if subsidies are ever needed. Perhaps in food products...I dont know.
But I KNOW that thousands of dollars per CAR in subsidies is insane!
“Imagine millions of gas stations in USA & Canada to fill my gas tank.”
Less than 200k in US. I really doubt Canada has millions.
“How many charging stations are there?”
Tens of millions.
“Also if I run out of gas on highway, all I need is a gas container filled with gas easily obtained from nearest gas station.”
I got my license 62 years ago. I have never run out of gas.
You should monitor your gas gauge.
I’m curious as to how many miles the electric motors are good for. have they reched 100K yet? 150? 250?
The ZEVx runs on battery power.
You never ran out of gas? What a hoot!
“You never ran out of gas? What a hoot!”
Correct. That includes my flying and boating hours.
I have run out of gas with lawn mowers and power washers but also had a few gallons on hand to refill.

Tesla claims it should last one million miles. But actually we don’t know yet because it will be decades before we have Teslas on the road long enough to start seeing the motor worn out.
Yes. The only things stopping it are the green hanky stompers.
“You never ran out of gas? What a hoot!”
I came close one Sunday night in I-10 in 1974 going cross country.
It was during the gas crisis and even interstate gas stations were shut down.
I was towing my motorcycle on a trailer and carried extra gas.
We are having TESLA charging Stations being installed in my city. They have been tearing up the main road installing electrical wring that can handle the ten EV charging stations power.
Beyond that... How well does it operate at -0F temps...
Back in the day, I bought 24, 5 gal., “gas” cans to store Diesel for my two TDI s/ws.
Still have them. And now that the TDIs are on local only duty, I have at least an 8 month supply. NO need to drive to the “gas” station frequently.
“Apparently, the one tunnel it built has paid for itself 100x over.”
gotta link for that nonsense you just made up?
here’s the real skinny on the Boring Company, which is no longer owned by Musk:
only one operational tunnel has been completed, namely one in las vegas, namely the Boring Company is SUBSIDIZING the operation of that one tunnel:
“Tunnels connecting different parts of the Las Vegas Convention Center are open. Due to operational expenses, it is probable that the Boring Company is subsidizing the Loop to keep customer prices low. A day pass from Resorts World costs $5, while the LVCVA is paying the Boring Company an additional $4.5 million annually, which equates to $7.50 per ride.[22]

You’ll need a copper charging cable as thick as your arm and a transformer substation in your backyard to charge in 15 minutes.
At least, according to the Boring company, 700,000 passengers have taken the loop. Las Vegas has approved the entire thing based on the numbers that exist.
