” Do gas stations still have the lever to allow you to keep filling up when you take your hand off the nozzle, so you can do your restroom break and such while you fill up?”

Evert gas station I use from Miami to Jacksonville has that notched lever to fill gas without me holding the nozzle. And it shuts off when tank is full. I use it every time since I do not like sell of gas fumes.

15 minutes to a full charge, which you may have to do at home. However, 2 minutes to a 60% charge or something of that nature.

Do small third world children spend fourteen hours a day toiling to mine it’s ingredients?
I wouldn’t want to put them out of a job.

If that’s accurate then it is a game changer.

I don’t understand the problem with capacitors on this point, where they charge instantly but engineering cannot be made to discharge them in a controlled manner.

There’s plenty of aluminum in the world (it’s 8% of earth’s crust by mass).

I used to bury my spent fuel rods in the back yard, but now I go to Jiffy Lube.

Exactly on point. What sort of charger can deliver 100 kWh of electricity in 15 minutes?

That’s roughly equivalent to 2-3 days of an average all-electric house.

Zounds!

Batteries should be far less costly to replace.

The first Model T had more problems than you could shake a stick at.

When it was eventually commercialized, The 10 gallon tank allowed it to travel about 250 miles. About as far as a charged Tesla EV can travel now.

It’s stupid to try and force EV’s on the public. The energy to run EV’s and gas powered vehicles comes from the exact same source.

When the public can charge these things overnight in the driveway, you’ll see a wider acceptance.

It’s good for the gas stations. Now they will have fifteen minutes to blast you with commercials instead of just three.

Lithium is pretty expensive compared to aluminum, even when it’s mined using slave labor. Maybe we can lower the cost and eliminate some slave labor in the world at the same time.

Aluminum does not need any special considering when mining, so it becomes even cheaper than that when mining.

The expensive part is extracting aluminum from the ore, which uses the Bayer process I think. But if you pick up any rock off the ground, likely it has some aluminum in it. It’s just purifying it which is the thing.

is a super-duper-mega-multi-billion dollar battery factory churning these things out right now? ... or is this announcement like the announcement of the Boring Machine?
