An aspiring actress was swallowed to death by a giant wave while doing cliffside yoga on her vacation in Thailand, local outlets report.

Shocking footage captured Kamilla Belyatskaya, 24, as the wave swept her away at the island of Koh Samui, overlooking the Gulfside of Thailand, during a meditation session on a pink yoga mat, according to the Khaosad English.

Belyatskaya, a Russian-born tourist vacationing in Thailand with her boyfriend, was unexpectedly struck by the wave Friday afternoon.

The footage showed her struggling against the currents and succumbing to the frothing waters.

A bystander went into the water to attempt to save her but was unsuccessful. His fate is currently unknown, the outlet said.

Earlier Belyatskaya called the famed beauty spot “home” and “the best place on earth,” on her social media.

She had been spotted earlier arriving at the Lad Ko viewpoint in a red car before going out to the rocks, where she retrieved the pink yoga mat, the outlet reported.

In Russia, you catch the wave.

In Thailand the wave catches you.

This is a front page story? Had she been an obese, unattractive female this would have been on page 11. A beauty dies gracefully, taken by the waves...

I cant imagine this “Giant Wave” hitting Samui... I've been to Koh Phangan(right next to Samui) several times to kiteboard and say the Gulf of Thailand isnt big enough to support “Giant Waves”. and going out on a ledge to yoga, wouldnt it be wet from previous normal waves?

something doesnt make sense here... i’m suspicious...

The yoga mat was left in place while she was swept away? And where was the boyfriend? A few feet away taking pictures is a good guess. I’m wondering if the story is misstating the facts. She might have gotten up and gone closer to the edge for a better picture and slipped, or perhaps was indeed knocked off balance by a larger than usual wave that did not, however, reach her mat. Tragic accident, but people are tempted into dangerous situations for pictures every day.

This is how things are. If you or I are in a car that gets into a wreck in a tunnel and you die, it doesn’t show up in much more than a local or regional paper.

If you are a glamorous British Princess and you get into a wreck in a tunnel and die, it becomes a legend.

“Yoga is satanic.”

My Sunday School teacher had been a missionary in Japan for decades. She liked the actual exercises because they helped her back, but was adamant that there would be no meditating or chanting.

Stretching is great. “Yoga” is a Hindu spiritual and ascetic discipline where you empty yourself and become “yoked” to a spirit. Exorcists have documented an exponential increase in demonic possession in the west that they claim is because of Yoga. 🧘

Yoga is no more satanic than riding a bike. It all depends upon where you ride it.

As you judge, you too will be judged.

It can be, yes. Or it can be effective stretching and mind clearing exercises to remove stress.

It’s like anything. Sex can be beautiful between a husband and wife. Or it can be satanic.

A buddy of mine and I got caught in a rouge wave in Oregon around ‘76.

The beach was VERY flat (level) and not steep — as such we were walking on the wet sand at low tide 300’ easily from the waves.

We both heard an odd sound and, due to the full moon we could see a wave moving towards us quickly. We ran about 150’ then jumped onto a large driftwood tree about 4’ in diameter. By the time the wave started retreating it had climbed up the beach at least 100’ past us but the driftwood tree saved us, we were soaked.

Two older ladies south of us were not so lucky and drowned when they were just taking a evening stroll...

We never know when our number is up...
