Thanks for the ping!

Crown Roast
Cheese Balls
Brandy Slush
Baked Ham with Pineapple
Rum Balls
Cashew Brittle
Sugar Cream Pie
Cornish Hens
Christmas Meatballs - making these this month!
Scalloped Potatoes
Gingerbread
Pfeffernuesse Cookies

I’ve had so many of the recipes listed, I had to stop, LOL! Luckily I come from a long line of wonderful cooks - Grandma especially and lots of Aunties and Cousins in the mix, too.

No one added Cannibal Sandwiches, though! Those were always a staple at every Wedding or Wake in our family.

“Where Did the Sandwich Get Its Start?

Making cannibal sandwich is a long-held tradition at parties, especially holiday gatherings, in the Milwaukee area. So much so that cannibal sandwiches even rate a mention on the Wisconsin Historical Society website.

But beyond that, the history isn’t clear. There are several versions of the sandwich’s origins. Legends link it to the Tartars (Mongols) of Central Asia. Others say it was born in Germany or France. But in the early twentieth century, it was called steack à l’Americaine in France—so no one knows for sure.”

I like rare, but not raw so I guess I’m not a cannibal!

Further down the page on that recipe is one for Lil’ Smokies wrapped in bacon - that one is right up my alley!

Just about any brandy is fine. Asbach is a couple dollars more than the real cheap stuff but it adds enough “Christmas” to make it worth it. More expensive doesnt really help with all of those ingredients.

Whiskey is good too when youre looking for a change. Pretty much any Kentucky bourbon works well.
