It's that time of year where we gather with Loved ones and "not so loved" ones.
This will be an ongoing thread through the holidays where we can vent about those who we would rather not be around but are required to do so.
Feel free to vent here about that special someone who manages to ruin your holidays, inlaws you abhor having over for dinner, and even that boss or co-worker who destroys the Xmas spirit.

Normal people will usually just roll with it.
But you’re BIL’s ilk (and they’re out there) are a special class of a-hole, and deserve to be dealt with accordingly.
Unfortunately, most are given a pass so they continue their unsavory behavior.

We had a jerk BIL (later divorced from sister in law)—but he was always on good behavior at our house.
He knew better than to mess with me. Most folks figure it out after I stare at them—I don’t even have to say a word.
He was rude to the rest of the world at restaurants or other public places. We still laugh and tell stories about the guy.
I think the person who said that this is a ‘control’ issue is right. And that’s usually calculated, not just ‘immature’.
I think rather than subject myself to all of that, I would just say “We are all meeting at the Golden Trough for a meal at noon” and leave it at that.
If he was rearranging my kitchen drawers, I would be rearranging his. The guy would make quite a character in a sit-com.
Yeah—that is the “alpha” issue.
In many ways we are still like apes.
Within family groupings we have alphas and betas.
Alphas rule and betas obey and stay out of the way.
Alphas don’t have rude relatives—at least not within their sight.

Thay was me...my sister thinks it’s immaturity.
I told her at the stovepipe when she was making those Sunnyside up eggs “he does it on purpose to control everybody”
Another example of that behavior is he will ask you a question, you get 1/2 way into the answer and he asks another question, then you start to answer that question and halfway into it he asks a 3rd question abd this goes on and on.
I caught onto it early on and began continuing my 1st answer and just talking over him until I got the answer out.
